This will help us to process your requests quickly and accurately. The Spring Season starts on May 1st and ends on August 31st . A new menu for next season will be sent to you at the beginning of July. Please do not book films for 1st September 2020 or after from this menu of films. 05 HOW TO BOOK YOUR FILMS Send an email to [email protected] as soon as possible, and not later than 1st APRIL (for partners, to allow time for production of publicity materials) and 10th APRIL (for associates). Please send it as a separate email to this one and NOT by pressing reply If you are an associate, state if it is a GOLD or SILVER booking. If you are a partner, make sure you have booked your dates with Christina first, to ensure she can schedule a presenter for you. State your venue name. List the dates and films you would like for MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG. Give at least TWO spare films in case your first choices are not available (We will always consult you on any substitutions that might be necessary). IMPORTANT NOTES Confirmations When you book your films from Moviola, we will send you a Confirmation Form on which the level of charge for each film is clearly set out. You should read this carefully before replying to Toby to state that it is correct. BUT please see the clause about minimum guarantees below. The confirmation is our agreement to supply films for you for the season and we refer back to it in any case of a query on your invoice. It is also your licence to show the film and your proof for anyone who requests it that you have booked the film properly, so be sure to read it and keep it safe. Minimum Guarantees If a film on the mainstream menu gets at least 10+ bookings across the Moviola network, we can generally offer it with no minimum guarantee attached. However, if it turns out that you are the only venue showing a particular film, then you will be subject to the distributor’s minimum of around £100 for film hire. If this were to be the case we would notify you of the change, and you would have the option to pick a different title. Release Dates While we always try to provide the most accurate release dates for titles on the Moviola Menu, these are open to change, often at very short notice. Due to this, we may have to ask you to change a title or reschedule a date. We will always give the maximum notice we can should a change be necessary. Children’s/Family Films Attracting a sufficient audience to make such films viable is extremely difficult. Young people often want tosee films immediately on release and at the lowest possible cost. Furthermore, these films are only available to us to show once they are on sale to the public. On this menu, we have included the films ‘THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING’ and ’ THE CALL OF THE WILD’ which we think are suitable for a PG audience and has good appeal to families. Help Us Stamp Out Film Piracy All films shown to the public have to pay a licence fee whether or not any ticket price is charged. As a Moviola venue, you operate commercial film shows in exactly the same way as your local multiplex or full- time cinema. You advertise shows and sell tickets, and the film distributors expect a proportion of your sales as film hire. If you find or hear of any venue near you which claims to be operating in a different way - for example advertising free shows or telling you that they get their films cheaper - we would like to know. It is in our interests to ensure that shows are properly licensed. 06 SUMMER MENU - 1st MAY—31st AUGUST 2020 Some big hitters kick us off in May, with the hugely popular 1917 now available, after a delay by the distributor, as well as the new adaptation of Little Women. Despite decidedly middling reviews, we also have the live-action version ofCats , a must on our menu given Judi Dench’s involvement and definitely a good choice if your audience likes musicals! For even the most casual of motoring fans, we have James Mangold’s Le Mans ‘66 (also known as Ford v Ferrari), detailing the famous endurance race of that year and the relationship between car designer Carol Shelby (Matt Damon) and driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale). Stunningly filmed with two stellar performances from the leads, this is one to see on your local big screen! Later in the season, Tom Hanks returns with A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, looking at the life of beloved American television entertainer Fred Rogers. We also have Military Wives, about a group of women whose husbands are serving in Afghanistan, and who start a choir that gains a worldwide following. Starring Kristin Scott Thomas, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser in the vein of last year’s Fisherman’s Friends. Likewise, Love, Sarah stars Celia Imrie who joins two other women in starting a bakery in Notting Hill. We’ve included a couple of films,The Kid Who Would Be King and the new adaptation of Jack London’s Call Of The Wild starring Harrison Ford for those venues who are looking into programming for a younger audience and we are of course happy to discuss this with you. Don’t forget, we are still offering Cinematheque films until at least the end of 2020, and you will find many new and diverse titles to choose from on this menu. Included is the recent Korean Oscar- winner Parasite, a fascinating watch and sure to start conversation at your screenings! You’ll also find some other fantastic foreign language offerings, including the rather absurdist comedy Deerskin, starring The Artist’s Jean Dujardin We hope you enjoy choosing your films for this new season, and as always, if you have any queries or would like advice on suitable programming for your venue, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of our team at the end of this menu Best wishes for another successful season Toby All films have a clickable link to the trailer and the BBFC website for detailed classification information.
