Bid solicitation # 5P015-140714/B for the provision of the following professional services: Occupational Health Monitoring Services PART 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION 1.1 Introduction The bid solicitation is divided intoto seven parts plus attachments and annexes, as follows: Part 1 General Information: provides a general description of the requirement; Part 2 Bidder Instructions: provides the instructions, clauses and conditions applicable to the bid solicitation; Part 3 Bid Preparation Instructions: provides bidders with instructions on how to prepare their bid; Part 4 Evaluation Procedures and Basis of Selection: indicates how the evaluation will be conducted, the evaluation criteria that must be addressed in the bid, and the basis of selection; Part 5 Certifications: includes the certifications to be provided; Part 6 Security Requirements: includes specific requirements that must be addressed by bidders; and Part 7 Resulting Contract Clauses: includes the clauses and conditions that will apply to any resulting contract. The Attachments include the Pricing Schedule, Technical Criteria, Certifications Precedent to Contract Award, and Certifications Required with the Bid. The Annexes include the Statement of Work, Basis of Payment, Security Requirements Check List, Task Authorization Form , Sample MS Office Excel Spreadsheet for Period Usage Reports – Contracts with TAs and the Non-Disclosure Agreement. 1.2 Summary 1.2.1 To provide Occupational Health Monitoring Services to all Parks Canada employees across Canada in both of Canada’s official languages. A health evaluation is conducted at the request of Parks Canada as it is required to meet the Canada Labor Code, Part II and Parks Canada’s Occupational Health Monitoring Standards, and/or in cases in which workplace hazards and risks are identified by Parks Canada. 1.2.2 The period of any resulting contract will be from date of contract for a period of one year. Any resulting contract will include an irrevocable option to extend the resulting contract term by up to three (3) additional (1) year periods under the same conditions. Current guidelines promote integrating cultural and natural resource management to ensure holistic management of all values within a protected heritage area. This paper uses the management of the Cave and Basin National Historic Site to illustrate challenges in protecting both historic and natural resources. A qualitative inductive study included analysis of interview and focus group data for the site and similar protected heritage areas. The gap between integrative policies and the tendency for uni-disciplinary approaches to the practice of managing protected heritage areas is investigated. Five barriers to integration, such as lack of awareness, and five methods for progress, including facilitated inclusion, are examined. The author proposes collaborative, sustainable, values-based practices for the successful integration of cultural and natural resource management.     Archaeological Assessment of the Twin Falls Teahouse National Historic Site, Yoho National Park William Perry Cultural Resource Services, Parks Canada, Calgary May 1999 Twin Falls Teahouse National Historic Site Assessment 2 Introduction From September 8th to the 10th, 1998, the Twin Falls Tea House National Historic Site located in the backcountry of Yoho National Park (figure 1), was assessed by an archaeological team from Cultural Resource Services, Western Canada Service Centre, Parks Canada, Calgary. The assessment was part of a larger heritage recording and assessment program led by Public Works, Architecture and Engineering, Calgary. The archaeological component of this recording involved the excavation at three locations along the foundation of the log structure to aid the restoration recording team in obtaining structural information as well as enhancing the site's historic and archaeological information base. Background The site was initially recorded in 1985 (Sumpter and Perry 1987:31), where the log chalet was photographed and a brief structural history was reported (See Getty 1972:200; Canadian Pacific Railway 1928:2,8,9; and Richard Friesen and Associates 1985:npag.). This initial assessment was a baseline recording and did not provide any management direction. Rectangular in shape, the lodge was constructed in three stages. The first stage involved the erection of a one-room cabin ca. 1908. The second stage, an addition, was constructed about 1917. The third stage, a two-storey log chalet addition, was constructed around 1923-24 (Getty 1972:200). This log structure was the first of five teahouses to be erected by the Canadian Pacific Railway in Yoho National Park.
