Today is Catechetical Sunday. The 2018 theme is: “Enlisting Witnesses for Jesus Christ.” Those who the Community has designated to serve as ENLISTING catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful WITNESSES opportunity to reflect on the role that each person FOR plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical JESUS Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate CHRIST themselves to this mission as a community of faith. Prayer for Our Catechists
O God, Our Heavenly Father, you have given us the gift of these catechists to be heralds of the Gospel to our Parish family. We lift them up in thanksgiving and intercede for them concerning their hopes and needs. Children’s Liturgy of the Word Are you a Fisher of Men?
CLW will begin again on October 7 during the 11 am Mass. All children ages pre-school to second grade are encouraged to attend so they can hear the Gospel story on a level they can understand. CLW is offered on the first two Sundays of each month.
Seeking Children’s Pageant Leader and helpers
Advent and Christmas preparations have begun. We need several volunteers to help coordinate the PSR children’s Christmas Pageant.
Please see Father Trapp or Maria Vonada if you would like to assist our children in this time-honored tradition at St. Joseph.
The Pageant will be performed at the Christmas Vigil Childrens Mass on December 24.
