Hyrule Warriors Legends Play Journal Entries Hyrule Warriors Legends Play Journal Entries Nintendoer Nintend0er 03/27/2016 9:51 AM Hyrule Warriors Legends log: part 2! In this post, I'll give my impressions to various changes in the game. There will be spoilers! I've finished the second set of battles I can do on the Adventure Map, which means I again turn to Legend Mode. Unfortunately, there were no Owl Statues at all in Adventure Mode...yet. E Yeah! e12 r 100 D https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 1 of 42 Advertisement Share this Post 1 Tweet 2 Share Embed Comment CrazyToad 03/27/2016 10:18 AM Notifs. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/27/2016 10:28 AM Yeah, I'm starting to think there may not be any Owl Statues in Adventure Mode, but we'll see. It would be a shame if the Ocarina was completely useless throughout most of the game's content. There are added statues in the story scenarios, though. Unfortunately, I won't have time to do any more this morning. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 2 of 42 E Yeah! e2 D Zachary 03/27/2016 2:32 PM I was wondering if you would add me for HWL. E Yeah! e0 Gage 03/27/2016 3:29 PM here for notifications. E Yeah! e0 Riyago 03/27/2016 5:17 PM You're a little farther than I. I just A-ranked all available screens post- prologue. Everyone is at least Level 10, and I'm playing on Normal. I'll probably start the OoT segment tonight or tomorrow. Also, Happy Easter! E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/27/2016 9:36 PM Happy Easter! I really don't have much to talk about yet, so I'll just show off an inactive https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 3 of 42 Owl Statue. I'm taking the Twilight path first this time; for the Hookshot. E Yeah! e1 D Zachary 03/27/2016 9:37 PM So no? E Yeah! e0 Gage 03/27/2016 9:52 PM So do u activate the statues by using the ocarina when you're near them? E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/27/2016 10:00 PM Maybe, Zachary. Nope, just press "Y" when you're in front of one. The Ocarina only allows you to warp, although I'm hoping there may be other capabilities later on...placing a temporary Owl Statue similar to how Farore's Wind functions would be great! https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 4 of 42 E Yeah! e1 D Zachary 03/27/2016 10:07 PM Well if you do add via wiiu then talk inside the messages. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/27/2016 10:20 PM Interesting...I can play as the Adventure Mode-unlocked Agitha in the Palace of Twilight...but not Lana. Similarly, I'm sure picking Lana for this battle would make it unable to play as Midna. E Yeah! e0 D Nintendoer 03/27/2016 10:26 PM Okay...I'm certain Midna's attacks didn't sound this obnoxious on the Wii U. Every time an attack hits an enemy, it makes a distinct "slap" sound. Which got old very, very quickly. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 5 of 42 E Yeah! e0 D Nintendoer 03/27/2016 10:32 PM Right, I haven't mentioned this yet. The idea of enemies being weak to certain items was in the Wii U version. The icon showing when to use it was not. This makes it much easier to perform a Weak Point Strike, and...I'm unsure how to feel about that. E Yeah! e2 D Nintendoer 03/27/2016 11:13 PM Might as well take this opportunity to mention animations related to Giant https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 6 of 42 Bosses. Weak Point Strike animations for giant bosses are gone, and replaced with just a generic shockwave type of thing. The Hookshot pull animation for Argorok is also gone. E Yeah! e1 D Nintendoer 03/27/2016 11:37 PM While coming back to this scenario in order to collect the hookshot-required Heart Container, I'm noticing something strange. There are currently 17 hearts on a single row. On the Wii U, it was 15 hearts per row, leading to a total of 30 hearts pre-DLC, or 45 with the DLC (but not for every character). I'm guessing there will be 20 hearts per row in this game, meaning a likely max of 40 pre-DLC. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 7 of 42 E Yeah! e2 D Gage 03/27/2016 11:50 PM it's disappointing that they removed the weak point strike animations for the giant bosses, but it's understandable. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 9:33 AM Exactly...this is a huge game. Some things needed to go, I suppose...Plus, it makes the process much faster. As expected, now that I have Midna, the Wolf Link amiibo gives weapons for her. E Yeah! e2 D Zachary 03/28/2016 11:25 AM It also gives it to twilight midna. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 11:36 AM https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 8 of 42 The "defeat all bosses" missions are more formidable now to account for the teamwork mechanic added to the game. I approve. E Yeah! e3 D Zachary 03/28/2016 12:12 PM Yeah that's my favorite part it really feels like a team effort now right? E Yeah! e1 Riyago 03/28/2016 1:45 PM I noticed during the OoT portion that the fairy that asks Impa and Sheik for help is no longer named "Navi", for some reason. She's just referred to as "Fairy". E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 9:58 PM I noticed that too, Riyago. Link is a hero. Linkle believes herself to be the hero and tries desperately https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 9 of 42 ♥ to be one. Ting is a fairy. Tingle believes himself to be a fairy and tries desperately to be one. Are these names random, or was this intentional? =P I found my second fairy, by the way. E Yeah e1 D Nintendoer 03/28/2016 10:16 PM This fairy comes with an active Rental Skill. These are used as an item, and as far as I can tell can be used once per battle. Can they be used by multiple characters in one battle? I'll have to find out... https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 10 of 42 E Yeah! e1 D Zachary 03/28/2016 10:36 PM You won't be saying that about linkle later heh. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 10:48 PM Zachary, please don't even hint at spoilers. You may have given me information I really didn't want yet. Here's a very welcome change. Zant was one of the most annoying enemies to fight, simply because it was nearly impossible to expose the Weak Point Gauge. Now, he no longer needs to "overuse" a Strong Attack; the gauge will appear regardless of how the attack finishes. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 11 of 42 E Yeah! e1 D Gage 03/28/2016 10:51 PM i'm really glad they changed that. hyrule warriors just randomly decided wether or not his weak point gauge would be available. 99.99% of the time, it wasn't. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 11:03 PM Three observations about the Apothecary: New mixtures for food items! Once I start worrying more about developing fairies, I'll probably make use of these. No auto-prepare option? Boo...that will make things annoying. The third apothecary upgrade is at 45 Skulltulas? I guess that means the last is no longer at 50...another way to balance things out. It will likely be at 90 this time. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 12 of 42 E Yeah! e0 D Gage 03/28/2016 11:08 PM My Fairy looks like a really neat addition to the game. E Yeah! e0 Nintendoer 03/28/2016 11:27 PM Link's Spinner weapon! It's no longer an amiibo-exclusive, which is great. Plus, with how much the Adventure Map has been changed to accommodate new characters like Toon Link and Linkle, I'm willing to bet it will finally get some use in this game. Sad to say, this was one of my least- used weapons on the Wii U, along with Epona, Dominian Rod, Tingle, etc. https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlCkXVyrg 10/26/17, 225 PM Page 13 of 42 E Yeah! e1 D Riyago 03/28/2016 11:32 PM Glad to see the Spinner get more love. It suffered from its TP fate in Hyrule Warriors: Great item/weapon, very few opportunities to use it, especially when Link has another awesome Lightning-based weapon. (Gauntlets) E Yeah! e1 Nintendoer 03/29/2016 12:01 AM As Zachary said, it's great seeing the team wail on a pacified Giant Boss, but the real prize in this teamwork is the effects granted.

The Journey of a Hero: Musical Evocations of the Hero’s Experience in The Legend of Zelda Jillian Wyatt In fulfillment of M.M. in Music Theory Supervised by Dr. Benjamin Graf, Dr Graham Hunt, and Micah Hayes May 2019 The University of Texas at Arlington ii ABSTRACT Jillian Wyatt: The Journey of a Hero Musical Evocations of the Hero’s Experience in The Legend of Zelda Under the supervision of Dr. Graham Hunt The research in this study explores concepts in the music from select games in The Legend of Zelda franchise. The paper utilizes topic theory and Schenkerian analysis to form connections between concepts such as adventure in the overworld, the fight or flight response in an enemy encounter, lament at the loss of a companion, and heroism by overcoming evil. This thesis identifies and discusses how Koji Kondo’s compositions evoke these concepts, and briefly questions the reasoning. The musical excerpts consist of (but are not limited to): The Great Sea (Windwaker; adventure), Ganondorf Battle (Ocarina of Time; fight or flight), Midna’s Lament (Twilight Princess; lament), and Hyrule Field (Twilight Princess; heroism). The article aims to encourage readers to explore music of different genres and acknowledge that conventional analysis tools prove useful to video game music. Additionally, the results in this study find patterns in Koji Kondo’s work such as (to identify a select few) modal mixture, military topic, and lament bass to perpetuate an in-game concept. The most significant aspect of this study suggests that the music in The Legend of Zelda reflects in-game ideas and pushes a musical concept to correspond with what happens on screen while in gameplay.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Play Journal Entries Stagger Lanayru79 03/13/2016 2:10 PM I adore Snowpeak Ruins, but I think I said enough about it on the log of my first playthrough. I'll pick up part two of a more story oriented journal here, right-handed blue-hearted style ... WARNING: Unmarked spoilers will appear in the comments. It's been so long since I came to the cannon tutorial room before having the Ball and Chain. Heh. E Yeah! e 29 r 102 D Advertisement Share this Post 1 Tweet 2 Share Embed Comment Stagger 03/13/2016 2:30 PM I concluded my last post discussing how crafty Ashei and Yeto's roles were in getting here, disarming the battle w/ a snow beast notion. Yeta's transformation into Blizetta is the payoff. It's a gorgeous fight in HD, and the creepy organ work suits it perfectly. So is this King Zora's mansion? I just noticed that the goat portraiture is from inside the house, but pictures of the City in the Sky? E Yeah! e 2 D Stagger 03/13/2016 3:02 PM Boy, not visiting Telma's Bar at all really rips the drama out of the dialogue w/ Rusl. Continuing from my last post, while the second leg of the Mirror shard segment doesn't directly involve Link's charges in Kakariko, it does involve Colin's father. Sustained effort to maintain the initial heroic motivation hanging by a thread ... but in tact. What is he talking about btw? ToT = Sealed Temple..

  • Not That Kind of Labor!
Not that Kind of Labor! Princess Zelda stood on the balcony of Hyrule Castle, looking out over the tranquil kingdom. She put a hand to her aching back. Carrying her full term baby bump was really wearing on her. She couldn’t be happier to be having a daughter of her own, but she could have done without the aches and pains pregnancy brought. Not to mention the extra pounds. Her hips had plumped up along with her butt. Her back felt a bit softer too. FRRT! She’d also earned a permanent tooting butt, though she was no stranger to being gassy. It’d just used to come on only after big meals or milk. Big meals, even live ones, had never left bellies that stuck around this long either. Zelda missed her trim, lithe frame that she could actually move in. She blushed as the smell of yesterday’s lunch began to fill her nose from the fart. She’d gotten cravings for spicy food, which did not help her bloated, gassy feeling. Still, it could be over at any moment. She would miss some things such as the feeling of life growing inside of her and how cute her belly could look at times. Zelda rubbed her baby bump lovingly, looking down at it and smiling as she felt the baby shift a little. A Zelda of her own. Dinner time was about to get even more confusing. “Sniff Sniff Whew…” a voice behind her said, “Taco Tuesday turned into Wet Fart Wednesday it seems.” Zelda blushed bright red, turning around to see her mother, Queen Zelda, standing behind her and fanning the air in front of her nose.

Jump #3: Ocarina of Time I managed to talk Lavine into buying the Ocarina of Time for me, but since it was gonna eat up her entire starting budget she gets to pick the next jump. Can't be too bad, right? She has to spend ten years there too. Yeah, I'm fucked. Anyway, things went about as well as I could expect, after waking up a kid again with all of my hard-won experience just a foggy memory. “Hello, Link! Wake up! The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you! Link, get up!” “Urghh. I'm up, I'm up.” Navi went on to explain herself and I got the first of many “Hey! C'mon!”s. I mostly tuned her out since I was too busy freaking out about losing all my skills and training. A lifetime and a half of swordfighting, gone like that! It was like losing both my hands! And I couldn't use my favorite equipment either! I dragged my dragonbone guitar and glass armor out of my Warehouse, and I mean literally dragged. The glass armor was fitted to my adult body, not this pre-teen age, and I could barely lift the sword let alone swing it. I ignored Navi's questions about where it all came from and packed it away again, along with the 'treasures' I'd had since before I could remember, my hookshot and shield. I couldn't use them to their fullest potential just yet but I'd need them later. Wait...am I supposed to be Link, or Linkle? I know Link was androgynous, but he was definitely a dude.

  • The Legend of Zelda - Majora’S Mask Jumpchain by Cthulhu Fartagn
The Legend of Zelda - Majora’s Mask Jumpchain by Cthulhu Fartagn The Story Thus Far In the land of Hyrule, the evil king Ganondorf has just been laid low by a young boy dressed in green. People celebrated their savior and life returned to normal. But alas, all was not well. You see, the child ultimately had no desire to be a hero, nor to be hailed and revered as their savior. And so, he left. Taking his Ocarina, his horse, and the blessing of Princess Zelda, he set out to far away lands in search of something he had lost. Unfortunately fate and destiny - and the goddess of time - have an unfortunate tendency to play with the lives of ‘Heroes’, and so they drew him back along a specific path. As he rode through the forest, he was accosted by a pair of fairies, Tatl and Tael and their friend, known as the Skull Kid. In a fit of childish whim, the fairies startled Link’s horse, Epona, and knocked him off - and out. The Skull Kid then stole the Ocarina from Link and attempted to steal his horse, only for Link to grab on and get taken for a ride. Over the course of chasing after him, Link would fall down a startlingly big hole and into the basement of a clock tower - and yes, I know that sounds odd. In another world entirely, things are subtly and quickly going very very wrong. The land of Termina is watched over by four Giants, Swamp, Mountain, Ocean, and Valley.

Queering an Icon: The Legend of Zelda and Inclusive Diversity Kyle Schrader Classical Studies I. Introduction: The Legend of Zelda and Queer Theory When analyzing media for structures and communications that inform and construct personal identity, it is always of extreme importance to focus on the main character of relevant stories, films, shows, and video games. For video games in particular, the main character serves as the player’s interactive avatar with the game world, a stand-in for themselves that serves as their contextual point for navigating the experiences within the game. In their work Toxic Geek Masculinity in Media, Anastasia Salter and Bridget Blodgett identify the consistent use of white male avatars in video games to restrict the ability of non-white, non-male, non-heterosexuals to properly identify with their liaison into the game worlds. This is an extremely valid criticism of the game industry at large, but one of their primary examples leads to a major point of contention.i In tracing the lineage of white male protagonists in video games, the authors of Toxic Geek Masculinity set Link from The Legend of Zelda series firmly in their sights as the stereotypical white, male, blonde hero with a princess to save; part of the strain of straight white male characters that fail to represent all gamers equally and, in fact, actively push those outside the archetype away from the medium.ii Their analysis of Link and the tropes of protagonists in video gaming ignore the nuances of the communities surrounding such characters and how interaction with the art and game themselves can help to alleviate these concerns, though it is through these communities that the games and characters are disseminated to the public.
