He always seems nervous and timid but is good-natured. He is calmer than his famous brother. If there is conflict, Luigi will smile and walk away. It is often thought that Luigi may secretly love Princess Daisy. .

    LEGO® Sonic Mania™: From Idea to Retail Set Sam Johnson’s first reaction when he saw that the LEGO Group may be designing a new set based on SEGA’s® beloved Sonic the Hedgehog™ was elation, that was followed quickly by a sense of dread. “The first game I had was Sonic the Hedgehog,” said Johnson, who is the design manager on the LEGO Ideas® line. “So immediately that kind of childhood connection kicks in and you have all these nostalgic feelings of, 'I really hope this goes through and I really want to be a part of it if it does.’ And then I had this dread of, ‘Well, how are we going to make Sonic?" Earlier this month, the LEGO Group announced it was in the process of creating a Sonic the Hedgehog set based on a concept designed by 24-year-old UK LEGO® superfan Viv Grannell. Her creation was submitted through the LEGO Ideas platform where it received 10,000 votes of support from LEGO fans. The next step was the LEGO Group reviewing her project among the many others that make it past that initial hurdle to see if it should be put into production. Johnson said he found Grannell’s build charming. “It’s so much in the vein of the actual video game itself which has this kind of colorful charm to it,” he said. “And it's not over complicated, which I really loved.     The Journey of a Hero: Musical Evocations of the Hero’s Experience in The Legend of Zelda Jillian Wyatt In fulfillment of M.M. in Music Theory Supervised by Dr. Benjamin Graf, Dr Graham Hunt, and Micah Hayes May 2019 The University of Texas at Arlington ii ABSTRACT Jillian Wyatt: The Journey of a Hero Musical Evocations of the Hero’s Experience in The Legend of Zelda Under the supervision of Dr. Graham Hunt The research in this study explores concepts in the music from select games in The Legend of Zelda franchise. The paper utilizes topic theory and Schenkerian analysis to form connections between concepts such as adventure in the overworld, the fight or flight response in an enemy encounter, lament at the loss of a companion, and heroism by overcoming evil. This thesis identifies and discusses how Koji Kondo’s compositions evoke these concepts, and briefly questions the reasoning. The musical excerpts consist of (but are not limited to): The Great Sea (Windwaker; adventure), Ganondorf Battle (Ocarina of Time; fight or flight), Midna’s Lament (Twilight Princess; lament), and Hyrule Field (Twilight Princess; heroism). The article aims to encourage readers to explore music of different genres and acknowledge that conventional analysis tools prove useful to video game music. Additionally, the results in this study find patterns in Koji Kondo’s work such as (to identify a select few) modal mixture, military topic, and lament bass to perpetuate an in-game concept. The most significant aspect of this study suggests that the music in The Legend of Zelda reflects in-game ideas and pushes a musical concept to correspond with what happens on screen while in gameplay.

    Dusty Rooms: il fenomeno di Mother Proprio qualche giorno fa, esattamente il 27 Luglio, è stato il 29esimo anniversario del rilascio del primo gioco della saga di Mother su Famicom. Negli ultimi anni la saga è diventata un fenomeno di culto, specialmente grazie all’inclusione di Ness in Super Smash Bros. Melee e, grazie a esso, un’orda di fan non fa che chiedere a gran voce il rilascio di tutti i giochi della saga in media più recenti, specialmente sapendo che il creatore della saga, Shigesato Itoi, ha dichiarato che con il rilascio di Mother 3 la saga è ufficialmente terminata e non ha alcuna intenzione di rilasciare un eventuale Mother 4. Oggi, su Dusty Rooms, daremo uno sguardo a una delle serieRPG più sottovalutate di tutti i tempi, che ha riscoperto una nuova vita grazie a internet ma che, ai tempi, non riuscì a imporsi in confronto ai più popolari Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest o Phantasy Star. Un inizio un po’ sottotono La storia di Mother, come già accennato, comincia su Famicom nel Luglio del 1989. Il prologo della storia ci presenta George e Maria, una tipica coppia americana che intorno agli anni ’50 scomparve dalla circolazione; più tardi George riapparve improvvisamente ma non rivelò mai a nessuno dove si trovasse e cosa successe a lui e a sua moglie, che rimase dispersa. George dunque, si chiuse in se stesso e cominciò a fare strani esperimenti isolandosi dal mondo. Nei tardi anni ’80 un giovane di nome Ninten (è il suo nome standard ma – come poi diventerà tipico della serie – è possibile cambiarlo prima di cominciare la nostra avventura) è testimone distrani eventi paranomali che avvengono in casa sua, come appunto l’attacco della sua bajour.
