CURRENCY ACT 1992 (ISLE OF MAN ) ORDER 1999

Coming into operation 20 April 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Treasury by section 6(1) of the Currency Act 1992(a) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the following Order is hereby made:-

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Currency (Isle of Man ) Order 1999 and shall come into operation when it is approved by Tynwald.

Currency parity

2. (1) In the Currency Act (Isle of Man European Currency Unit Coins) Order 1994(b) -

(a) in article 2 omit the definition of "ECU"; and

(b) in article 3(1) for "the European Currency Unit" substitute "the European single currency named "the Euro" at the rate of one Isle of Man Euro to one "Euro""; and

() in article 3(2) for "European Currency Unit" substitute "Euro".

(2) In the Currency Act (Isle of Man Euro Coins) Order 1996(c) -

(a) in article 2 omit the definition of "Euro";

(b) in article 3(1) for "the European Currency Unit" substitute "the European single currency named "the Euro" at the rate of one Isle of Man Euro to one "Euro""; and

(c) in article 3(2) for "European Currency Unit" substitute "Euro".

(3) In the Currency (Isle of Man Euro Coins) Order 1998(d) -

(a) in article 2 omit the definition of "Euro";

(b) in article 3(1) for "the European Currency Unit" substitute "the European single currency named "the Euro" at the rate of one Isle of Man Euro to one "Euro" "; and

(c) in article 3(2) for "European Currency Unit" substitute "Euro".
