The training will be held in Room WJCS 6226. The training will begin Monday at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time and end at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on Friday. Please plan your flights accordingly. The William Jefferson Clinton South Federal Building is located at: 1200 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, D.C. 20460 Please note: The training will be held at the William Jefferson Clinton South Federal Building in Washington, D.C.; a block of sleeping rooms is set up at the Embassy Suites DC Convention Center hotel in Washington, D.C. which is located within walking distance (approximately a 13-minute walk) to the William Jefferson Clinton South Federal Building. Please be advised that the temperatures in the training room do not reflect temperatures outside. Be sure to pack a jacket or sweater to wear while you attend the training. 1 Dining The Embassy Suites DC Convention Center hotel offers the following dining options: Finn & Porter Restaurant, a contemporary American cuisine restaurant, open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., Saturday 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. In-room dining, offered daily 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Complimentary evening reception. Health, Fitness and Recreation The Embassy Suites DC Convention Center hotel offers an on-site 24-hour fitness center that features cardio machines and free weights. Travel Information The Washington, D.C. area is served by the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). DCA is located approximately 5 miles from the Embassy Suites DC Convention Center hotel, and IAD is located approximately 30 miles from the Embassy Suites DC Convention Center hotel. Ground Transportation Metro Rail: The Metro rail system provides access to the Washington D.C. Metro area. Metro's rail system opens at 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The rail system closes at 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 p.m. on Sundays. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes on weekdays and approximately every 15 minutes after 9:00 p.m. daily, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Fares range from $1.85 to $6.00 one-way, depending on your arrival and departure stations and the time you ride the train. An additional $1.00 surcharge is added if a paper fare card is used. You may purchase a SmarTrip® card online, at any Metro sales office, retail outlets, or commuter stores. SmarTrip® cards also may be purchased through vending machines at stations where parking is available. The SmarTrip® card is a permanent rechargeable farecard and like a credit card, is embedded with a special computer chip that keeps track of the value of the card. Purchasing a SmarTrip® card allows you to add value to your card and not have to recharge your card each time you want to ride the Metro. It also currently serves areas that do not demand high‐ Dear DDOT, We live in NE on Capitol Hill and frequently use the Union Station‐Navy Yard Metro route to take our daughter to school. In the summer we use the frequency, all‐day service. From end to end, the trip on the route often to go to Nationals games and to go to Yards Park. The proposed changes would severely impact my family's ability to get our daughter to school and DC Circulator is 28 minutes.

Abstract: On Monday, June 22, 2009, about 4:58 p.m., eastern daylight time, inbound Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metrorail train 112 struck the rear of stopped inbound Metrorail train 214. The accident occurred on aboveground track on the Metrorail Red Line near the Fort Totten station in Washington, D.C. The lead car of train 112 struck the rear car of train 214, causing the rear car of train 214 to telescope into the lead car of train 112, resulting in a loss of occupant survival space in the lead car of about 63 feet (about 84 percent of its total length). Nine people aboard train 112, including the train operator, were killed. Emergency response agencies reported transporting 52 people to local hospitals. Damage to train equipment was estimated to be $12 million. As a result of its investigation of this accident, the National Transportation Safety Board makes recommendations to the U.S.
