U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, CERCLA Education Center U.S. Environmental Protection Agency CERCLA Education Center Hazard Ranking System July 16 through 19, 2019 Schedule of Events The Hazard Ranking System training will be held Tuesday, July 16 through Friday, July 19, 2019, at the ICF Conference Center in Washington, D.C. The training will be held in Suite 1000, on the 10th floor of the building. The training will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time and end at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on Friday. Please plan your flights accordingly. The ICF Conference Center is located at: 1725 I (Eye) Street NW Washington, D.C. 20006 Please note: The training will be held at the ICF Conference Center in Washington, D.C.; a block of sleeping rooms is set up at the Kimpton Rouge Hotel in Washington, D.C. which is located within walking distance (approximately a 13-minute walk) to the ICF Conference Center. Local participants can park in the surrounding parking garages if necessary. Parking rates vary per garage. Kimpton Rouge Hotel in Washington D.C. Sleeping Room Reservations A block of rooms has been reserved at the Kimpton Rouge Hotel in Washington, D.C. The lodging rate is $149 per night plus sales tax, which is less than the prevailing federal government rate of $179 per night. Reservations need to be made before Thursday, June 20, 2019, to receive the group rate. The rate includes a complimentary evening happy hour, morning coffee and tea in the living room and wireless internet in each guest room. Please be advised that the temperatures in the training room do not reflect temperatures outside. Be sure to pack a jacket or sweater to wear while you attend the training. 1 Dining The Kimpton Rouge Hotel offers the following dining options: Bar Rouge, a lively restaurant and bar open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for breakfast and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for dinner. In-room dining provided by Bar Rouge. Complimentary morning coffee and tea service. Many other dining options are available within walking distance of the ICF Conference Center and The Kimpton Rouge Hotel. Health, Fitness and Recreation The Kimpton Rouge Hotel offers an on-site 24-hour fitness center that features cardio machines and free weights. Travel Information The Washington, D.C. area is served by the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). DCA is located approximately 6 miles from the Kimpton Rouge Hotel, and IAD is located approximately 30 miles from the Kimpton Rouge Hotel. Ground Transportation Metro Rail: The Metro rail system provides access to the Washington D.C. Metro area. Metro's rail system opens at 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The rail system closes at 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 p.m. on Sundays. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes on weekdays and approximately every 15 minutes after 9:00 p.m. daily, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Fares range from $1.85 to $6.00 one-way, depending on your arrival and departure stations and the time you ride the train. An additional $1.00 surcharge is added if a paper fare card is used. You may purchase a SmarTrip® card online, at any Metro sales office, retail outlets, or commuter stores. SmarTrip® cards also may be purchased through vending machines at stations where parking is available. The SmarTrip® card is a permanent rechargeable farecard and like a credit card, is embedded with a special computer chip that keeps track of the value of the card. Purchasing a SmarTrip® card allows you to add value to your card and not have to recharge your card each time you want to ride the Metro. SmarTrip® cards or individual tickets need to be purchased before boarding the train. Additional information about Metro rail is available at www.wmata.com/index.cfm. The Kimpton Rouge Hotel is accessible by Metro’s red, orange, blue and silver lines. A map of the Metro rail is located on the last page of this information sheet. No reservations are needed for outbound service from the airport. One-way fare between IAD and the Kimpton Rouge Hotel is approximately $30. The Union Station‐ Navy Yard route has low ridership, especially during the mid‐day and on weekends (17 passengers boarding per hour, tied for 4th in the system). It also currently serves areas that do not demand high‐ Dear DDOT, We live in NE on Capitol Hill and frequently use the Union Station‐Navy Yard Metro route to take our daughter to school. In the summer we use the frequency, all‐day service. From end to end, the trip on the route often to go to Nationals games and to go to Yards Park. The proposed changes would severely impact my family's ability to get our daughter to school and DC Circulator is 28 minutes.

Follow the road until the Key Bridge exit. You will want to be in the left lane as you cross over Key Bridge. At the end of Key Bridge, take a left at the light. This is M Street, which becomes Canal Road. Follow the road as it bears to the right and go up the hill. Go through the light – you are on Foxhall Rd. Metro’s Strategic Plan In June 2013, the Metro Board adopted its new strategic plan, Momentum, which will guide Metro’s decisions over the next eleven years and will ensure that the system will continue to support the region’s competitiveness for decades to come. Momentum contains seven initiatives for year 2025. Within the Metro 2025 program is the initiative ‘New Blue Line Connections’, which has proposed one of two alternative Metrorail core lines (Figure 1). FIGURE 1. Metrorail Operations The Metrorail system has a constraint of twenty-six trains per hour along any line, due to the duration of track switches and of train dwells at platforms. With the start of the Silver Line in 2014, three lines will converge at Rosslyn Station: Silver at ten trains per hour, Orange at eleven and Blue at five. This section describes the evolution of the operations plans. During the planning of the Silver Line (2000-2004), Metro recognized the forecast of high ridership demand of the Orange and Silver Lines and proposed a change in the Metrorail operations plan within the 2004 Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (underline added): Peak-period service frequencies on the Orange and Blue lines would be reduced from six-minute headways (ten trains per hour) to approximately seven minutes (eight to nine trains per hour), and half of the peak-period Blue Line trains would Page 1 of 10 New Blue Line Connections be diverted from the Rosslyn tunnel to the Yellow Line to accommodate additional Orange Line service from Vienna.
