The calendar has been finalised and the tracks booked and HRC are just waiting to finalise with the classes what events they wish to run at before we announce the full list of classes running at each event. Some events are already full with eleven classes which is really the limit we can run at a two day meeting. Some interesting projects coming up including a possible new motoring TV show (f we can get support) and a rerun of the B & H 500. HRC are endeavouring to run Classic meetings and Mixed Meetings as separate events with the classic meetings with older cars and hopefully cars with COD’s. Unfortunately for commercial reasons we have to have some non-classic classes at these meeting to make them viable. The classic meetings are the Icebreaker 28/29th September Hampton Downs, Tasman Revival Hampton Downs 25/26th January, Tasman Revival Pukekohe 22/23rd February, Paul Fahey NZ Legends of Speed 21/22nd March Hampton Downs, Jack Nazer Classic Taupo 25/26th April. At these we will run BMW classes and ERC and while COD’s for these classes are not mandatory the cars competing in most cases could get COD’s. Race meeting organisers do need classes to combine as entry fees cannot keep rising.

Matters finalised from Race 28: The Stewards held a Hearing to consider the Protest lodged by Racing Team (Aust) Pty against the DRD’s Determination not to refer to the Stewards for the imposition of a Penalty the Incident during Car #97’s second Pit Stop in Race 28 when the rear wheels were observed to rotate. The Stewards dismissed the Protest and published their decision to the parties at 1530hrs. No Notice of Intention to Appeal from the Stewards’ decision was received from any party within the time prescribed by Rule B5.2.1.2. Matters from Qualifying for Race 29: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD conducted a post-Session investigation at the request of Motorsport Holdings Pty Ltd into an allegation that Car #7, Andre Heimgartner, was impeded by Car #14, Tim Slade. The DRD reviewed the Judicial Camera footage from Car #7. No Incident was observed on that review and the DRD determined accordingly not to refer the matter to the Stewards. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed There were no Penalties imposed. Matters from Top 10 Shootout for Race 29: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations There were no DRD determinations. A bit of a mixed bag this month as we wind down to the final major event of the year – Speed Weekend. Lots of new information for the upcoming year with the draft calendar now out and a reminder to those interested in the history vehicles of our sport that the tribute to the Targa Florio is coming up from the 29th November to the 3rd December. Moves are now underway to have the Bathurst Light Car Club undertake officials training courses in conjunction with CAMS in the Club’s rooms on Conrod Straight with more details to come in the next Edition. Remember it is still not too late to become eligible for the weekend away for two people on the coast, you just have to be registered as a volunteer at a Club event in 2017 as an official to go in the draw for your chance to win. The winner will be announced at the Club Presentation Night and Christmas Party on the 9th December and tickets for the best Christmas Party in town go on sale this month. Next month will feature the October Khanacross which we ran out of time to include here but plenty of pics and good results for our juniors.
