EFE Launches #Work4Women to Support MENA's Ambitious Female Workforce Across MENA, working women are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. Nearly 20% of all roles, both formal and informal, are imperiled for women, and these losses are widening the gap between women and the workplace, threatening to entrench the gender gap permanently. To support the thousands of ambitious young women eager to enter the workforce across the region, EFE is launching the #Work4Women campaign. Learn more and join us here.

State Department Supports EFE-Palestine Training Entrepreneurs The Palestinian Affairs Unit at the U.S. Department of State has approved a $250,000 grant to EFE to support Palestinian women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and expand their sales to American customers. For this project, 40 entrepreneurs will participate in customized training with EFE-Palestine, and the top 24 will be referred to EFE partner International Strategic Management (ISM) for advanced training, coaching, and participation in targeted retail events. At the end of the project, five entrepreneurs will be selected to participate in a week- long exchange program in the to meet with business support specialists and potential customers.

EFE-Maroc Innovates to Connect Youth to Jobs

Since winning The Velaj Foundation Innovation Award in May, EFE-Maroc received significant support to scale up its hiring kiosk project to match job seekers with available positions and connect them with training. EFE-Maroc has been awarded a grant for $444,870 from Dell including cash, in-kind equipment and pro bono support. The grant will support the design, delivery, and integration of digital skills trainings and solutions in partnership with the Ministry of Education and OFPPT, directly benefiting over 2,000 students, teachers, and job seekers across Morocco. This award strengthens EFE- Maroc's partnership with Dell, a strategic partner for The Velaj Foundation Innovation Award project that funded the initial two hiring kiosks.

EFE Summit Goes Virtual, Briding Staff Across Continents A global pandemic may have disrupted the traditional in-person EFE Summit, but it can't stop the EFE Network from connecting! We will come together for a virtual EFE Summit in November, giving EFE staff across Affiliates the opportunity to discuss strategies and share updates, engage with EFE board members, and participate in team-building activities. The summit's virtual will make it accessible to more staff around the globe. We have also invited CNN’s Chief International Correspondent and award-winning journalist Clarissa Ward as the feature speaker. Stay tuned for more details.

Building Algerian Youth’s Future Project Prepares Trainers to Transform Futures Under the “Building Algerian Youth’s Future (BAYF II)” project funded by the UK Government, EFE held its first Training of Trainers (ToTs) in the southern Wilaya of Béchar, Algeria, despite mobility restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Both ToTs were delivered in a hybrid format, with EFE-Tunisie Master Trainers connected via Zoom supported on-site by our senior consultant and EFE-certified trainer, Aniss Benyoucef. We are very proud of our 20 newly- certified trainers in EFE’s “Workplace Success” and “Finding a Job is a Job” programs. Congratulations to all involved!

#ResilienceSeries Continues to Bring Together Experts and Viewers Across the EFE Network Over the past four months, EFE's #ResilienceSeries has connected the EFE Network and followers to expertise. EFE in the UAE Participants Maximize Their Potential on LinkedIn

Participants in EFE in the UAE's Job Placement Training Program got an upgrade to their LinkedIn profiles! Wael Hassan, the Public Sector director of LinkedIn, led a session for the cohort that covered getting to know LinkedIn, crafting your profile and story, and finding opportunities on LinkedIn.

EFE-Egypt CEO and Alum Share Insights on Webinar EFE-Egypt CEO Nora Abou El Seoud and alum Islam Gamal participated in a German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce webinar on bridging the gap between technical education, vocational training, and employment. Abou El Seoud spoke about the importance of youth developing soft skills and the power of public-private collaboration in training programs. Islam described his positive experience with EFE-Egypt's skills training combined with practical training from Schlumberger.

EFE-Saudi Arabia Spreads Digital Skills for the Future In honor of Saudi Arabia's 90th National Day, EFE-Saudi Arabia launched a campaign in which they offered 90 free seats in the "Digital Skills for the Future" training on the Accenture Emplea+ platform. We love the idea of celebrating through spreading skills!
