I ended my 2012 report by saying “a lot of hard most importantly keen to support the club whenever they can, to see work ahead, but I am looking forward to it and it become successful. School Football Programs

In 2013 the District partnered with Central TAFE and worked closely with their students completing a Certificate IV in Sport. Consequently, students were then provided with a practical expe- rience and delivered many school based programs within the Demons District schools. As a result of this our school numbers went through the roof in 2013 and we hope to continue to push into this market in 2014 and beyond.

Junior Competition Council

The JCC drives our junior competition and is one of the most important parts of our District. The team led by Ross Leipold as Competition Director has had a tough but successful year and one that came with many challenges. The support given to Ross has been superb and included Simon Gilbert, Jo Warner, Joe Wieclaw and Mel Thomas.

Coach Education

Coach education continues to be a huge priority for the District as it strives to improve the overall standard of coaching. Bruce Fraser, District Coach Co-ordinator once again did a fantastic job in helping coaches throughout the district. Coaching is the most difficult part of the game of football and we acknowledge all the coaches that have put their hand up to do the job in 2013. The District was able to accredit over 100 coaches in the Level 1 Course this year with a further 8 completing the Level 2 Course.
