A single snapshot. For eternity.

14 June 2015, Le Mans: two 919 Hybrid racing cars cross the finish line just a few centimetres apart from each other, this impressive one-two finish ensuring yet another overall win at the classic ‘24 Hours of Le Mans’ endurance race. This is the seventeenth overall victory to be secured here by Porsche – exactly 45 years to the day after the first overall Porsche win in this town on the River Sarthe. No other manufacturer has achieved so many successes at the world’s toughest long-distance championship and is so closely associated with the Le Mans legend.

At the wheel of the winning car, number 19, sat Earl Bamber (New Zealand), Nico Hülkenberg (Germany) and Nick Tandy (Great Britain), who completed an impressive 395 laps in the 24 hour period. The 919 Hybrid sporting the number 17 took second place.

The spectacular performance by the innovative was rounded off by the third vehicle with the number 18, which finished the 13.6-km Circuit de la Sarthe in a magnificent fifth place.

“This one-two finish at Le Mans is a major achievement that we could never have dreamt possible”, said Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche AG. “The team has done a sterling job over the past three or four years, and it really has earned this success.” Wolfgang Hatz, the Board Member for Research and Development at Porsche AG, added: “A one-two finish at Le Mans in the second year of taking part is the reward for the courage shown by our developers – in the design of the 919 Hybrid – and for the exemplary commitment Attracted by the new efficiency regulations, Porsche only returned to During the course of this superb weekend at Le Mans, Porsche recorded of 230 employees.” top-level endurance motor racing last year. An impressive first half of the year.

The one-two finish in Le Mans marked the high point of a previously very successful year in long-distance racing for the Porsche 919 Hybrid prototypes. The LMP1 prototype 919 Hybrid clinched a podium position in the very first race of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The team around Romain Dumas (France), Neel Jani (Switzerland) and Marc Lieb (Ludwigsburg, Germany) won its first trophy with the Porsche 919 Hybrid at the British Silverstone Circuit, securing an outstanding second place.

Just a few weeks later, the trio took second position again, this time in the highly exhilarating and action-packed 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Third place in this race went to another 919 Hybrid: Timo Bernhard (Germany), Brendon Hartley (New Zealand) and Mark Webber (Australia) started in pole position, but dropped back due to a time penalty and a technical failure. Entered for the first time, the third Porsche 919 Hybrid with Earl Bamber (New Zealand), driver Nico Hülkenberg (Germany) and Nick Tandy (Great Britain) started in second, but lost ground due to an accident which was followed by a stop for repairs. They recovered after dropping to the back of the field to finish sixth.

Strictly speaking, its golden age began back in 1974.

There’s a certain strength in serenity. This was true of the very first 911 Turbo of 1974, and it also applies to the 911 Turbo (Type 991) – as well as to any personalisation options. Everything is done with dedication, precision and patience – and to meet your individual requirements. One example is the 911 Turbo in Lime Gold Metallic with Aerokit Turbo painted in Black (high-gloss).

In addition to the visual appeal, aerodynamic function was a top priority during development of the Aerokit Turbo. This ensured that the flow-optimised package was perfectly integrated into the harmoniously balanced overall concept of the high-performance 911. The aerodynamic components of the Aerokit Turbo also generate greater downforce at the rear axle and therefore improve driving stability, especially at high speeds.

The Aerokit Turbo is available in two versions – either finished in the exterior colour or in high-gloss Black. In addition to the Aerokit attachments, the standard side skirts and rear apron are also painted. On the Black version, the air intake slats on the rear lid are also in Black to match the extendable rear wing.
