Republic of the Philippircs Department of Transportation LAND TRANSPORTATION FRANCHISING & REGULATORY BOARI) East Avenue, Quezon City MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO.2020 - 013 SUBJECT ADDITIONAL MODIFIED ROUTES ALLOWED FOR THE OPERATION OF TR,{DITIONAL PUJ VEHICLES DURING THE PERIOD OF GCQ IN METRO MANILA WHEREAS, pursuant to the guidelines of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for a calibrated and gradual opening of public transportation in Metro Manila and those in nearby provinces, the Board has since then made the necessary monitoring on the daily operations of thl initial routes allowed to operate; WHEREAS, under Item II.b. of MC 2020-O26,the Board may issue additional routes to resume operations based on passenger demand; WHEREAS, based on the monitoring and coordination with local government urits in Metro Manila, there is a continuous need to open additional routes for kaditional PUJs to sorye passenger demand; NOW TIIEREF0RE, for and in consideration of the foregoing the Board" hereby allows the additional routes (attached as ANNEX "A") for traditional PUJs to operate within Metro Manila and entering Metro Manila starting NOVEMBER 18, 2020 or u. *uy be allowed by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (rATF-EIF) This Circular shall cover grantees of valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CpC) for Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) or that Application for Extension of Validity of CpC has been filed for expired CPCs operating in the National Capital Region. Operators with expired CpC covered by the provisions of Board Resolution No. 062 Series of 202A dated 29 Aprii 2A20 and, Board Resolution No. 100 dated 09 May 2a20 arc tikswise coversd. -

(flank) THE BREACH OF INTRAMUROS Translated literally, the Spanish word intramuros means withoIn wafls.- As referred to herein, it applies to the mediaeval fortress within the in insular capital-city of Manila on the island of Luzon in the ]Philippine group. In February of 1945', while in the process of libeitting Manila, units of the American army-assaulted and secured that fortress from a heterogeneous force of Japanese defenders in only one day of battle, a feat unparalleled in that city's turbulent history. The reason for thi's study is many-fold, as is its purpose. First that one day of battle was entirely rep'resentative of the vicious street-mto-street., builing.-to-building, and room-to-room7 type of combat encountered by American forces for the first time on the Pacific front. By portraying a comparatively detailed picture of the component part,, a better understanding of the whole becomes more apparent to the interested observer. Secondly, though the, action was a special situation in a secondary theater of operations which abounded in the unusual, it still conformed in general to basic principle as enunciated in field m6anuals and technical jour-w nals-a-flurther proof that fundamental miitary doctrine changes very little with time and place though the means of imlementation may be at great variance. -

Iim-Sylianco and Virginia F. lnefinada Institute of Chemistry University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City ABSTRACT The "Blue Cotton" method was used to separate mutagens from water samples from rivers �nd esteros around Manila. The Rec assay was used to deter mined direct DNA damaging capacity. Ames test was employed to study muta genicity potential before metabolic activation. Genetoxicity after metabolic acti vation was determined by the Host-mediated assay while chromosome breaking effects were investigated using the micronucleus test. Water samples from Pasig river, Las Pinas river, Marikina river, Navotas river, and Zapote river did not possess direct DNA damaging potentiaL These did not exhibit mutagenic activity before and after metabolic activation. These did not possess chromosome breaking effects. Water samples from Malabon river, (near Federico St., Isla de Cocoma), Paranaque river (across MIA road), ·san Juan river (across P. Sanch�z St.) and Taguig river (along Gen. Luna St., Sta. Ana, Peteros) were mutagenic before metabolic activation. However, the mutagenicity of the water samples from Paranaque and Taguig rivers disappeared after metabolic activation. Water samples from Malabon river and San Juan river were genotoxic before and after metabolic activation. None of the river water. samples around Manila exhibited chromosome breaking effects. Water samples frm 20 esteros did not exhibit direct DNA damag ing effects and were not mutagenic before and after metabolic activation. How ever, chromosome breaking effects were observed from water samples of Estero de Magdalena, Estero de Uli-Uli, Estero de Tripa de Galina and estero de San Lazaro. -
