We have indicated which sections that are normally carried in stock and although we can supply the others, they are subject to minimum production quantities, which depend on the size of the section concerned. Please enquire, we will be happy to give you the exact postion on any given section. All profiles are manufactued to BS 3734, 1978 tolerances. The full part number is shown underneath each section. Mostly they are made in commercial EPDM but some are in other compounds which are denoted by the letters below following the number. Listed below is a guide to these codes which :- EP Ethylene Proplylene Diene Monomer. EPJ Ethylene Proplylene Diene Monomer. Jaguar type section. J Natural commercial. Jaguar type section. FQ Food Quality. N Neoprene (Chloroprene). NT Nitrile. S Silicone. SQ Steam Quality. W/S Good weather resistant quality.     Identifying Your Car 75 Model Years A model year does not necessarily coincide with the year in which the car was built. For example, it may be seen from the following chart that while a car built in January 1972 is indeed a 1972 model year car, another one built in August of that year is a 1973 model year car. There are several different reasons for this. One reason is that it is easier to bring in changes in a model's specification when production has been halted already for a holiday shut down. Autumn 1960: Cash crisis forces TFADW1AT = manual, RHD TFADW2AT = manual, LHD, Europe the Spitfire development plan to be shelved. August 1961: Leyland Motors purchase Standard TFADW5AT = manual, overdrive, RHD TFADW6AT = manual, overdrive, LHD, Europe Triumph, Stanley Markland becomes MD. He discovers Spitfire prototype under a dust cover by accident and demands it be put into production. Webster (chief designer) and Martin Tustin (General Manager). Original design concept The number ‘4’ denotes the number of cylinders. The Vitesse has already gone on sale in the USA incorporated a monocoque body shell. Eventually the realities of financial constraint led them to as the Sports 6 and so the Spitfire 4 follows suit to fit in with the prevailing marketing strategy - use a chassis and separate body shell.

Kim Henson tells all… Adorned by the famous MG badge, Midgets (together with equivalent Austin Healey Sprite models) are budget-priced classic sports cars offering much more hood-down fun per mile than their size and performance potential might suggest. Even today Sprites/Midgets are still relatively cheap to buy, and fuel costs are about as low www.wheels-alive.co.uk as they can get for a sports car. The original 948cc Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite (the basis for all later Sprites ands equivalent Midgets, which essentially differ only in badging and trim) was cleverly designed, developed and produced around Austin A35 components, and appeared in May 1958. It was deliberately intended to be inexpensive to buy and to run. With factory-fitted twin carburettors and other ‘mild’ upgrades to the engine, it produced good performance for its time. It handled well too, and the precise rack and pinion steering system received much praise. In the summer of 1961, the body style was changed and the revised, more powerful models became known as the Mark II Sprite and Mark I Midget (effectively, from this time the Midget ‘Mark’ reference numbers were always one behind those of the Sprite).
