EUROSOLAR European Solar Prize 2009 Laureates of the European Solar Prize 2009 Created by EUROSOLAR in 1994 the European Solar Prize has since rewarded towns, companies, individuals, architects and also organisations for outstanding service rendered to renewable energy utilization and applications every year. The recipients are celebrated for exemplary contributions, excellence, innovation, initiative and commitment. This year’s European Solar Prize is awarded in the following subject categories: Cities, municipalities and municipal utilities • Morbach / Germany • Geovest S.r.l. / Italy Industrial and commercial companies or farmers • KWB – Kraft und Wärme aus Biomasse GmbH / Austria Owners or users of installations utilizing renewable energy • grab architekten ag / Switzerland Local or regional associations promoting renewable energy projects • Terra Foundation / Spain • DAÇE – East Mediterranean Environmental Association / Turkey Media • “Here Comes the Sun” – Rob van Hattum / Netherlands One-world cooperation • Solartaxi / Switzerland • INFORSE-Europe / Denmark Special achievement prize for outstanding individual commitment • Claude Turmes / Luxembourg • Dr Wolfhart Dürrschmidt / Germany A judging panel made up of experienced experts has chosen the winners from nearly 100 applications. Its members are: Philippe Bovet, France; Gallus Cadonau, Switzerland; Wolfgang Hein, Austria; Rosa Hemmers, Germany; Wanda Kleihues van Tol, architect; Henri Kox, Luxembourg; Dr Preben Maegaard, Denmark; Dr Wolfgang Palz, WCRE; Dr Josep Puig, Spain; Francesca Sartogo, Italy; Dr Hermann Scheer, MdB; Milan Smrz, Czech Republic; Dr Ingrid Wagner, Austria; Olaf Weber, KfW Bankengruppe; Prof Dr Tanay Sidki Uyar, Turkey; Irm Pontenagel, Germany EUROPEAN SOLAR PRIZE 2009 Morbach / Germany Cities, municipalities or municipal utilities around the world who come to see its energy produc - tion landscape every year.
