The National Chairman was Dr Stanley R Bull, Associate Director of Science and Technology, NREL. The Congress Chairman was Prof Ali Sayigh, Director General of WREN, Brighton UK. The US Organizing Committee Chairman was Mr Robert Noun, Deputy Associate Director, External Relations, NREL. The Chairmen of the Technical Committees were Dr Larry Kazmerski, Director of US National Center for Photovoltaics, NREL, and Prof Richard Perez, the University at Albany, USA. ETEC Expo was organized by Infinity Expo Group, chaired by Ms Nancy Jo Wiggin, Shelton, CT 06484, USA. Two teams were formed for the Technical Committee, one based in the UK and comprising 75 members from UK and rest of the World except US: the other consisted of 25 scientists mostly from NREL, USA. The Congress Authority thanks all the sponsors who gave generously to help make the Congress more rewarding, these included UNESCO, ISESCO, MRI, Battelle, BP, Xcel Energy, WCRE, Power Light Design, ACORE, The Ceo Coalition, The Mile High City of Denver, Colorado Coalition for New Energy Technology, American Association Of Blacks in Energy, Cenergy Renewable Trading Ltd, Elsevier, Ulster University, New Belgium Brewing and WREN. The Congress activities commenced on Saturday 28 August 2004 with a WREN/WREC meeting outlining their activities over the last two years and their proposed future activities.
