[email protected] EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report serves as a summary of the issues raised and the suggestions offered during the Stakeholder/Agency Roundtable and the Public Meeting/Open House events held on April 28, 2010, at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico and at the Heard Museum and Radisson Airport North in Phoenix, Arizona. The goals of this public involvement process in the Southwestern Region 3 were: To offer participants information on the Planning Rule Revision Process in as clear and engaging a way as possible To enter into a discussion with the full range of stakeholders, agencies, and citizens with an interest in forest issues To gather reactions, concerns, ideas and recommendations from these participants in a way that will help inform the rule writing team To lay the foundation for a rule revision process that will be inclusive, informative and collaborative We are offering below five major themes that emerged during these discussions. Since consensus was not the goal of this process ‐‐ but rather a lively and energetic discussion of the issues ‐‐ these themes do not suggest any agreement among participants.
