First of all looking back, the newly refitted poolside had a fantastic first six weeks with figures for showing us soaring 40% above the previous year. The festive season was also busy with several Members getting married in the Club grounds and many Members holding Christmas and New Year functions. I thank all our Members for their support for all the festive events and I would to say a special thank you to all our staff who put in a magnificent effort – often running five or six functions in a single day. Now I have been in this role for two months I am looking at the ongoing challenge of continuous improvement to the Club’s food & beverage range and service level. Members will, I hope, have noticed that we now offer eleven house wines by the glass in our upgraded wine list and in all outlets we can now offer you no less than eight draught beers – including Old Speckled Hen and O’Hara’s Irish Pale Ale. Over the next few months we will also update the menus and please remember if you missed dinner or want a late supper, the western menu is now available in the Churchill Bar until 11:15pm. Looking ahead to this year our Club will be 110 years old in April and we will find an exciting way to celebrate this and earlier in Medical Miracles Making Smiles! the year we will be holding a celebration evening for our more senior Members – those with over twenty years in membership including a number who have been with us for over fifty years! You can bring the smile of a lifetime to a child’s face for as little Although a relatively inexpensive & simple surgery, it remains out I thank you once again for all the support Members have given me and I look forward to wishing you a happy new year in person as 15,000 Baht with a donation to Operation Smile Thailand. of reach for the poorer families living in rural Thailand.
