I don't think I have shown this one before. It is in the OSC and the the rim is opalescent. It does look pale blue for some reason.

Ohhh Nancy V. Soooo many beauties. Just gorgious. The lace on glass ones are stunning. Reminds me of royality. J.J., Your Cranberries are beautiful. These are hand painted.

28 Lynda LaLonde 09-02-2015 12:02 PM ET (US) Please correct me if I am wrong. I think this is my rarest salt. OSC has #771 similar, said to be scarce. I think this is older, but could be wrong.

29 Lynda LaLonde 09-02-2015 12:06 PM ET (US) I love these little salts with the enamel flowers.

30 Nancy Dietel 09-02-2015 12:50 PM ET (US)

This is a large, very ornate salt. 31 Nancy C Lynda, I have a green oval daisy & button salt with the little frosted cat on Villaverde the rim. It's the right size for a salt. I've never found another like it so I'd 09-02-2015 say it's scarce at least. The OSC ones all have dogs as I'm sure you 01:03 PM noticed. I like my cat better. This enameled one is stunning. 36 Nancy C Nancy, I agree that your #32 is great. What do you think the red buds or Villaverde fruits are? The spikey thing around them don't fit with strawberries. I'd 09-02-2015 forgotten about goofus glass, and I'm not sure this qualifies for such a silly 02:52 PM sounding name. ET (US) 37 E. Lynda, A little history on your glass kitty on your blue salt. They (dogs & cats) are Czech glass and were originally made as prizes/charms that were inside Cracker Jack boxes. Some were added to intaglios (also Czech glass) and salts and other small items. My little dark amethyst glass dog has a metal collar with a red bead attached and sits on an amber intaglio. I sold a blue dog on a clear intaglio to Debi years ago and had a couple of cats on intaglios that I also sold but can't remember to who...maybe Mary?? The cats and dogs are often found on eBay and are quite pricey...here are a couple examples presently on eBay...Item #201419166518 & #400987864961. It is much harder to find them attached to an intaglio with a "shelf" for them to sit or in your case a salt that would accommodate the little cat or dog...nice find!! 39 Joan F. Jane, They also made glass bears, but I have never seen one attached to 09-02-2015 04:25 PM an intaglio...something to look for!! ET (US) 40 E. Jane Koble Ohhhh - bears! I have a salt with a little shelf, but no little animal for on it. 09-02-2015 Maybe - some day - a bear! 05:37 PM ET (US)

41 Nancy Dietel 09-02-2015 05:43 PM ET (US) Nancy V, I thought my #32 was Goofus glass because I posted it a long time ago and someone, (Jane?) suggested it was. I knew nothing about that type of glass, but when I looked it up, it seemed to fit. I found this piece for sale with cherries. I thought mine was strawberries, but it could be a clover bud. maybe? 42 Who cares what it was made for, or what it was called; when we buy them, Don they become SALTS!! They are a little crude in execution. 05:21 PM ET (US) 82 Jane, I have two of the Manley books, pretty old now. They are dated Nancy C 1966 and 1968, books 2 & 4. They have beautifully clear pictures and Villaverde good information. I've never seen books 1 & 3. They are small with thick, 09-08-2015 cardboard pages. I don't see a Peking glass salt, maybe in one of those 05:34 PM ET (US) books. I'd love to have them.

88 Got it now, Lynda. I see a similar shaped piece at #194 in British Glass, Nancy C Book 4 with pictures taken from the Manley collection. The description Villaverde says just "Another special salt--pink splashed over white." No maker 09-09-2015 suggested, just from British glass book. The rim in the jack-in-the-pulpit 01:22 PM shape is opaque white and the body looks speckled pink. ET (US) I just ordered another version of British glass by Cyril Manley on line, used book through the Amazon site. It was listed as 1 copy available, so I guess I got the last one there. It may be a different format of the same content as my little old book. I saw a different one also with Manley's name on it when I did a search but decided I go for this one first. Coralene decoration on black glass. 149 Nancy V: I bet people thought the art glass salts looked better without Debi Raitz tarnished and pitted holders. They do detract sometimes if they are in poor 09-15-2015 shape. That's the only reason I can think of why breakable glass survives 07:04 PM and sturdy metals don't. 153 Debi Raitz 09-16-2015 I added plain old gold acrylic paint to this salt because it was almost 03:30 PM completely gone. It looks no different than the original because it was ET (US) never a shiny gold to begin with. Jan, I bet if you did this to your green salt in the diamond areas you'd like the look a lot more. It takes no painting skills. Just put it on the whole area and wipe it off the high areas while it's still wet. When you like how it looks, just let it dry. The way I look at it is the look is improved, it's mine and I'm not selling it. I wouldn't soak it in water after that, but then I would never do that to any salt that had applied paint.

Art deco, enamel paint, 1920s You have some wonderful sets Inez. All of your coralene is in such great 233 condition. Now that you're back do you have a double like the one shown Debi Raitz on the H&J pages we are working on? It's H&J 585. 275 Janelle That's a pretty swan Nancy, I don't believe I have seen it before. Very nice 09-28-2015 07:39 PM Salt. ET (US) Mary & Joan, I am glad you like my salt, it is unusual. Also I have advised the Roos to be on guard. By the way Mary, they do take prisoners. I Have often searched for more of Baraks work but I have never found another salt other than the club one. Maybe mine is a one only or prototype. A shame as he does such great work.
