Since 1998, AccesRail has made it possible to book rail on the airline primary screen displays of all important GDSs around the world through carrier code 9B. Today, AccesRail opens up new opportunities to over 120,000 IATA accredited travel agents around the world. By fostering Air-Rail cooperation, AccesRail helps increase the distribution and visibility of railway products by allowing them to interline or code share with any of the 260 airline IATA members. This allows railway companies to grow through cooperation strategies with airlines and to share the costs associated with system maintenance and development with the alliance of railway companies that make up AccesRail. In short, AccesRail is a seamless solution for partner railways who wish to interline or code share with any of the growing list of airlines already implemented with AccesRail. About this Sales Manual The purpose of this Sales Manual is to help Tour operating companies and travel industry professionals familiarize themselves with AccesRail and the booking process of intermodal Air-Rail tickets. In this document you will find information related to rail partners offering service between train stations and airport stations as well as contact information should you require additional help. We hope this document helps you provide the highest quality of service to your customers. 4 | P a g e DB Rail&Fly Product Overview Distribution: Interline DB Rail&Fly is the alternative to domestic flights in Germany, thanks to long-distance railway stations offering particularly favourable, direct connections in Germany. Deutsche Bahn provides the most convenient way to take travelers between the airport and city centres. Over 6000 German train stations are identified on Global Distribution Systems (GDS) under the name Railway Germany (QYG). DB Rail&Fly offers train service between (QYG) and 18 airports: Amsterdam (AMS) Dresden (DRS) Köln-Bonn (CGN) Basel (BSL) Düsseldorf (DUS) München (MUC) Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF) Frankfurt (FRA) Münster-Osnabrück (FMO) Berlin-Tegel (TXL) Hamburg (HAM) Nürnberg (NUE) Bremen (BRE) Hannover (HAJ) Salzburg (SZG) Dortmund (DTM) Leipzig-Halle (LEJ) Stuttgart (STR) Train Range 9B flights 3000 - 3999 Booking Classes F: 1st class Y: 2nd class Inventory 12 months forwards Participating GDS Abacus – Amadeus – Apollo – Axess – Galileo – Infini Sabre – Sirena Travel – SITA – Travel Sky – Topas – Worldspan 5 | P a g e Booking Process Travel agents and airline ticket offices may book the rail sector to/from QYG in conjunction with a flight. AccesRail replies to the booking that includes a DB Rail&Fly segment indicating the need to check-in within 72 hours before departure of the rail segment at www.accesrail.com/checkin to retrieve the train ticket. GDS Availability Display The image below is a typical GDS availability display demonstrating the possible itineraries between QYG and Frankfurt airport. PNR Booking The image below is a PNR booked on the GDS by a travel agent or an airline ticketing officer (ATO). 6 | P a g e Ticketing When the trip purchase is completed, the travel agent or the airline ticketing officer issues an airline electronic ticket plated on the interlining airline. The passenger receives a document with his itinerary. The printout can either come from the airline, the GDS the travel agent or the Amadeus Itinerary Receipt (ITR). Airlines will make sure that customers collect the information on the Special Service Request (SSR) from the Travel Agent at the time of booking. Rail Check-in One pick up number will be generated per direction. This means that, for a return journey, the traveler will receive two pick up numbers. As instructed during the booking process, the passenger can only check- in on www.accesrail.com/checkin within 72 hours of their travel date. The passenger will enter his/her first and last name and one of the following information: Airline electronic ticket number (13 digit) Airline PNR locator AccesRail Check-in site 7 | P a g e Travel Documents DB Rail&Fly Boarding Pass The image below is the example of a boarding pass for travel using DB Rail&Fly. While the first page is in German, the document contains a second page translated into either English or Chinese, depending on the traveler’s initial language setup. The second page of the DB Rail Rail&Fly Boarding pass contains translated copies of the information included on page 1. A third page with the terms and conditions of using DB Rail&Fly is also generated with each new PNR. 8 | P a g e How to Connect Transfer connections to/from the airport You can refer to this table for information on transfer connections. SparSchiene railway tickets and Trip tickets are available for the direct trains on discounted prices. The Railjet and EuroNight trains to Switzerland are running according to the timetable. Changes in the railway traffic between Hungary and Germany International railway traffic of day and night trains on relation Budapest – Bratislava – Prague – Berlin – Hamburg is going on according to the timetable. Because of the border control introduced between Austria and Germany, the Railjets and the seat cars of the Kálmán Imre (EN462/463) night train to Munich are running only on the relation between Budapest and Salzburg until further notice, while the couchette and sleeping cars of the EuroNight train are out of operation until further notice. According to the information from the DB German Railways, the railway traffic is suspended between Salzburg and Germany caused by the reintroduction of border control. On direct trains from Vienna to Germany travel is possible only until Salzburg. The alternative routes are as follows: For travelling between Vienna and Munich the DB German Railways advices to use the Kufstein – Wörgl – Zell am See, and Passau – Wels routes; On the relation between Salzburg and Freilassing the ÖBB Austrian Federal Railways and the Meridian Regional Railway service provider are operating local trains, which timetable for 16-29 November is available here [1] and for 9-15 November is available here [2].

Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group), through its summer 2020 timetable that starts on Sunday 14 June, is strengthening the integration of the train with various forms of transport to ensure the development of sustainable tourism and urban mobility. This will enable people who take the train for longer trips to use bicycles, electric scooters and other ecological means of getting around for the first and last miles, to and from stations. There is no charge for tickets for carrying bicycles, foldable scooters (both electric and otherwise), hoverboards and monowheels on regional trains. The maximum size permitted has also been increased, to include the largest bikes on the market. The new Rock and Pop regional trains will also have more room set aside for two-wheeled vehicles and recharging electrically-powered two-wheelers. There is also room for bicycles on InterCity trains. With the new summer timetable, Trenitalia is also launching its partnership with Helbiz, a micro-mobility company that was the first in Italy to start sharing services and technology for scooters and electric bikes in Turin, Milan, Verona and Rome.
