Key design options like the scheme’s geographical scope, the baseline year(s), cap and allocation of allowances, and – in the case of aviation – the relationship with CORSIA, can have impacts on the competitive situation of EU carriers and vessels. This is the first stage in the research project focusing on the implementation and socio-economic perspectives related to the eventual inclusion of aviation and maritime in the EU ETS system. The analysis of the Commission’s proposal is expected to follow in fall 2021. This document was requested by the European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism. Market forces, rather than government agencies, 2 began to regulate the indus- try. The transition, however, has not been an easy one. Procedures and relationships well suited to a regulated in- dustry are now viewed as outdated, onerous, and even anticompetitive. The current conflict over carrier-owned computer res- ervation systems (CRS's) represents one instance of these problems.3 The air transportation distribution system re- lies heavily on the use of CRS's, particularly since deregu- lation and the resulting increase in airline activity. 4 One I Pub. International Travel on Federal Grants Fly America Act
International Travel on Federal Grants Fly America Act The Fly America Act (41 CFR 301-10.131 through 301-10.143) requires that all federally funded air travel be on a US flag carrier or US flag carrier service provided under a code share agreement. US Flag Air Carrier In order for a flight to be in compliance with the Fly America Act, the code of a U.S. flag air carrier must be noted as part of the flight number on the airline ticket, flight coupon (boarding pass), or passenger receipt. Each airline has a two letter alpha code. U.S. flag carriers and their codes are listed below to assist you. From this list, you will be able to compare airline codes on the ticket with those on the list and thereby be able to ascertain whether the flight is on a US Flag air carrier. U.S. flag air carriers: • Alaska Airlines (AS) • Allegiant Air (G4) • American Airlines (AA) • Delta Airlines (DL) • Frontier Airlines (F9) • Hawaiian Airlines (HA) • JetBlue Airways (B6) • Southwest Airlines (WN) • Spirit Airlines (NK) • United Airlines (UA) Code Share Agreements Code sharing occurs when two or more airlines "code" the same flight as if it was their own. In other words, a U.S. airline may sell a seat on the plane of a foreign air carrier; this seat is considered the same as one on a plane operated by a U.S. flag carrier. Compliance with the Fly America Act is satisfied when the U.S. flag air carrier's designator code is present in the area next to the flight numbers on the airline ticket, boarding pass, or on the documentation for an electronic ticket (passenger receipt). -

Office of Research Administration ORA-02-04: FLY AMERICA ACT ORA-02-04.01 Definition of Fly America Act The Fly America Act of 1974 applies to all travel funded by U.S. federal government funds (including sponsored project funds). The Act requires the use of a U.S. flag air carrier to the maximum extent possible when traveling between the U.S. and a foreign country, or between foreign countries. Consistent with the Fly America Act codified at 49 U.S.C. 40118, The University of Akron requires travelers who will be reimbursed from federal grants or contracts to use U.S. flag carrier service. The code of a U.S. flag carrier appears on the airline ticket, boarding pass, or passenger receipt. In cases where a U.S. flag carrier does not provide acceptable service for a particular leg of a trip, foreign carrier service may be used, but only to or from the nearest interchange point on a usually traveled route to connect with the U.S. flag carrier. Contact the Office of Research Administration with travel questions related to Fly America. Please note that airline tickets purchased through discount services such as Travelocity or Experian may indicate a U.S. flag carrier at the time of purchase, but at the time of flight may be ticketed on a non- U.S. airline. In this circumstance, the cost of the airline ticket would not be an allowable federal grant expense. Always go to the primary source (the airline) to check flight codes before purchasing tickets on discount services. -

CBP Traveler Entry Forms CBP Declaration, I-94, and I-94W Welcome to the United States Whether you are a visitor to the United States or U.S. citizen, each individual arriving into the United States must complete one or more of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) entry forms. This publication will provide you with detailed instructions on filling out those entry forms. Every traveler must complete the CBP Declaration Form 6059B. This form provides CBP with basic information about who you are and what you are bringing into the country, such as agriculture products and whether or not you have visited a farm prior to traveling to the United States. If you are traveling with other immediate family members, you can complete one form for your entire family. Some travelers will need to complete a CBP Form I-94. This form must be completed by all travelers except U.S. citizens, returning resident aliens, aliens with immigrant visas, and Canadian citizens who are visiting or in transit. Nonimmigrant visitors who are seeking entry to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program must fill out the CBP Form I-94W. If you have questions about your form that are not answered in this publication, please don’t hesitate to ask a CBP officer for help. Five in-depth case studies (Hongkong, Tokyo-Narita, London- Heathrow, Chicago- O’Hare and Paris-Charles de Gaulle) and eight smaller case studies (Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Shanghai-Pudong, Bangkok, Beijing, Rome- Fiumicino, Istanbul-Atatürk and Munich- Franz Josef Strauss) are conducted. The thesis builds on existing literature that compares airport-rail links by explicitly considering the influence of the institutional environment of an airport on its ground access situation and by paying special attention to recently opened dedicated airport expresses in Asia. -

Procedure: Travel - class of air travel Purpose To inform staff travelling on ANU business of the University’s procedure on the appropriate selection of class of air travel. Procedure 1. Members of Council travelling on Council business are entitled to business class air travel. 2. Members of review and selection committees fly economy except if approval to travel premium economy or business class is granted as per the conditions specified in paragraph 5. 3. Staff fly economy except if approval to travel premium economy or business class is granted as per the conditions specified in paragraph 5 or if provided for in the individual's employment contract. 4. For air travel over six hours, and subject to the availability of funds, the occupants of the following positions may travel business class or premium economy: Deputy Vice-Chancellor Pro Vice-Chancellor Chief Operating Officer College Deans and Dean of Medical School Director of a Research School Director, Service Division 5. In special cases the College Dean, for College staff, or Chief Operating Officer, for all other staff, may approve an application to fly premium economy or business class where: the staff member has an identified medical disability or there is some other physical reason that may present a risk to the travellers health or safety; or the staff member pays for the difference between discount economy and the approved higher class at his/her own expense; or Procedure: Travel - class of air travel Page 1 the trip is paid by outside funds and the external cost is approved by the external body; or in rare cases where there are other exceptional circumstances to warrant the higher cost. -
E. Runway Length Analysis
JOSLIN FIELD, MAGIC VALLEY REGIONAL AIRPORT DECEMBER 2012 E. Runway Length Analysis This appendix describes the runway length analysis conducted for the Airport. Runway 7-25, the Airport’s primary runway, has a length of 8,700 feet and the existing crosswind runway (Runway 12-30) has a length of 3,207 feet. A runway length analysis was conducted to determine if additional runway length is required to meet the needs of aircraft forecasted to operate at the Airport through the planning period. The analysis was conducted according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidance contained in Advisory Circular (AC) 150/5325-4B, Runway Length Requirements for Airport Design. The runway length analysis set forth in AC 150/5325-4B relates to both arrivals and departures, although departures typically require more runway length. Runway length requirements were determined separately for Runway 7-25 and Runway 12-30. E.1 Primary Runway Length Requirements According to AC 150/5325-4B, the design objective for the primary runway is to provide a runway length for all aircraft without causing operational weight restrictions. The methodology used to determine required runway lengths is based on the MTOW of the aircraft types to be evaluated, which are grouped into the following categories: Small aircraft (MTOW of 12,500 pounds or less) – Aircraft in this category range in size from ultralight aircraft to small turboprop aircraft. Within this category, aircraft are broken out by approach speeds (less than 30 knots, at least 30 knots but less than 50 knots, and more than 50 knots). Aircraft with approach speeds of more than 50 knots are further broken out by passenger seat capacity (less than 10 passenger seats and 10 or more passenger seats).
