All suites are fitted with rosewood cupboards, a dressing table, satellite TV and radio, a safety deposit box, individually controlled airconditioning and en-suite facilities with shower and hairdryer. Suites on the Select deck have portholes and the Royal Suites on the Panorama deck have large windows. YOUR DINING While the most beautiful river scenery passes by, enjoy delicacies created by the Executive Chef and his highly skilled team. Only the freshest ingredients are used to create delicious dishes. Relax and take in the passing landscapes, with pristine white linen, silver and fine porcelain to complete your dining experience. The restaurant has open seating allowing you to sit where you like at each meal. In the morning breakfast is served buffet style, lunch is a delightful salad buffet with hot served choices, and dinner is served a la carte in four courses.     Fumiko Shiraga was born in Tokyo to musically educated parents. She started playing the piano at the age of three and moved to Germany at the age of six. She was a student of Professor Detlef Kraus, Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr and Vladimir Krainev. In 1995 she completed her studies in Hanover, achieving the highest distinction in her soloist examinations. Parallel to her final years of studies she was intensively taken care of by the Polish teacher Malgorzata Bator-Schreiber. Fumiko Shiraga has won numerous prizes in national and international competitions. Fumiko Shiraga received much inspiration of artistic value by attending international master classes held by Nikita Magaloff, Yara Bernette, Jeremy Menuhin, Paul Badura-Skoda, Edith Picht-Axenfeld and John O´Conor (Fondazione Wilhelm Kempff/Positano). Fumiko Shiraga played solo evenings, orchestra concerts and chamber music concerts in London, Budapest, Salzburg, Gstaad, Helsinki, Riga, Kiev, Istanbul, Beirut, San José, at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, at the Bremen Music Festival, the Mozart Festival Wuerzburg, the Rheingau Music Festival and the renowned Chopin Festival in Duszniki/Polen. She also gave concerts in the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, the Bruckner House Linz, the Casals Hall Tokyo and the great hall of the Tschaikowsky Conservatory in Moskow. Amongst innumerable concerts in Germany she regularly played concerts for the recording of miscellaneous radio stations, such as NDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk = northern Germany radio station), BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk = Bavarian radio station), SWR (Südwestrundfunk, south-west Germany radio station), HR (Hessischer Rundfunk = Hesse radio). Ever since 1996 she has played various concertos for the Swedish label BIS, where she caused furore worldwide with the series ”Piano concertos in disguise“.

  • It Is by No Means Surprising That the Piano Music of Anton Bruckner Is
    t is by no means surprising that the piano music of Anton Bruckner is generally unknown to a broader public, as the name of Bruckner is synonymous with masterly compositions in Ithe fields of symphonic music and church music. Yet a knowledge of Bruckner’s piano com- positions offers, apart from the purely musical-acoustical approach, numerous opportunities for coming to grips in the most varied of terms with the art of a composer who so polarizes the musical world. Reference to musical models and different compositional techniques, the appear- ance of emotional states and mental conditions, as well as the recognition of the circumstances in which these compositions arose, can help to fill out our image of Bruckner’s personality and to clarify his musical evolution. When we examine Bruckner’s original compositions for the piano, which were produced between the years 1850 and 1868, our interest is initially aroused by the miniature forms – romantic piano pieces, especially ‘lyric piano pieces’, character pieces and ‘songs without words’ – though we should also bear in mind where the pieces were composed, i.e. the monas- tery of St. Florian and the cathedral city of Linz. In September 1845 Bruckner signed a contract of employment with the Seminary and Mar- ket School of St. Florian, thereby returning to the school that he had attended as a boy chorister. He taught at the school for a decade, first as an assistant teacher and later as an upper-school teacher. From 1850 he also served provisionally as the monastery’s organist. Although, in addi- tion to his duties at school, Bruckner also taught the boy choristers singing and violin, he still found time to give private lessons to his piano pupils.

To better understand Hummel’s approach to arrangement, I borrow concepts from translation theories.

Zunächst erhielt er Violinunterricht beim Deutschland. Sie studierte bei Detlef Kraus, Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr, Vater und wechselte dann mit 12 Jahren zum Cello über. Sein Violoncello-Studium Malgorzata Bator und Vladimir Krainev an den Musikhochschulen Essen, Detmold begann er 17jährig an der Musikhochschule Stuttgart bei R. Gleissner und setzte es in und Hannover. Seit 1996 macht sie Einspielungen für das schwedische Label Lübeck bei David Geringas fort. 1986 war er Stipendiat der Accademia Chigiana in Siena BIS: mit ihrer Reihe „Piano concertos in disguise“ erregte sie weltweit Aufsehen. bei André Navarra und 1988 Stipendiat des Richard-Wagner Verbandes Stuttgart. 1997 erschienen die Chopin-Konzerte in der Version für Klavier und Nikolaus Trieb ist Preisträger mehrerer Cello-Wettbewerbe und bereiste als Solist und Streichquintett, 2000 folgte die Einspielung der Ludwig van Beethoven-Konzerte Mitglied diverser Ensembles Europa, Asien und Australien. 1994 legte er sein Nr. 1 & 2 in derselben Besetzung. 2003 begann die Gesamteinspielung der Konzertexamen mit Auszeichnung im Lübeck ab. Als Solist trat er u.a. mit den Stuttgarter Mozart-Konzerte, die J.N. Hummel für Kammermusikbesetzung arrangiert hat Philharmonikern, dem Orchester des Staatstheaters Cottbus, der Westdeutschen Sinfonia (insgesamt 7 Konzerte).
