WYNBERG BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR FESTIVAL The Wynberg Boys’ High Choir Festival was held in the City Hall where the wonderful acoustics did justice to the beautiful voices. The mass choir events were conducted by Phillip Swales of the Cape Welsh Choir, and performances were given by a number of schools including WBHS and WGHS. We congratulate our Choir and Vocal Ensemble girls on their outstanding performances. WOOL FOR WONDERS Knitting Challenge The staff of WGHS are on a mission and as you can see in the photographs, they are serious. Last year Wynberg Old Girls’ Union, with the Constantiaberg Bulletin, launched a “Wool for Wonders” jersey- knitting challenge. The aim was to produce as many jerseys as possible for the babies at Nazareth House. It was a huge success so this year we are doing the same thing but knitting beanies as well. The staff challenges students, past pupils and parents to beat the number of items which they knit. The competition runs until the end of July. The patterns for the jersey and beanies can be found below and even if you can't knit yourself, you could still parti- cipate by donating balls of double-knit wool which will be distributed to eager knitters who can’t afford to buy the wool.
