Regulation 2015 Narula Institute of Technology Department of Electrical Engineering Curriculum & Syllabus Booklet of Bachelor of Technology MAKAUT Regulation 2010 B.Tech EE/MAKAUT Regulation 2010 DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Departmental Vision To develop responsible citizens who would 'think global and act local' and become the change agents of society to meet the challenges of future. ii B.Tech EE/MAKAUT Regulation 2010 Departmental Mission M1: To impart comprehensive and quality education and to develop innovative, entrepreneurial and ethical professionals, suitable for, sustainable environment. M2: To develop a reservoir of experience and knowledge and to share it with the stake holders in education for mutual enrichment. M3: To promote, product oriented and dedicated research for establishing a self- sustaining and wealth-creating centre to serve, the social needs. M4: To prepare the students for new challenges in the field of electrical engineering. M5: To create and sustain an environment, for critical thinking and problem solving. M6: To strive to be at the forefront of Research and maintain intensive interaction with Industry and leading Research Centers, where students can be engaged in Projects, Training and Internships. M7: To undertake collaborative projects which offer opportunities for long term interaction with academia and industry. M8: To develop human potential to its fullest extent so that intellectually capable and imaginatively gifted leaders can emerge in a range of professions. iii B.Tech EE/MAKAUT Regulation 2010 Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) PEO1 (Technical Knowledge) – To equip the students with the technology of electrical machines, power systems, power electronics, signals and systems, electrical networks and control systems so that they are able to carry out the design, construction, operation and maintenance of such machines and systems as required by the market. PEO2 (Technical Skills) – To train the students on fabrication, assembly, operation, maintenance of all kinds of electrical machines and systems such as motors, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, power electronic converters and control circuits so that they are useful in any manufacturing or project environment. PEO3 (ICT Skills) – To involve the students in rigorous practice of programming languages such as C, C++, Java and train them with digital communication protocols and communication technologies so that they are able to develop suitable hardware and software interfaces to integrate various electrical and electronics equipment. PEO4 (Communication Skills) – To develop competence in written communications to orient them how to write a letter to an official, prepare project documentation, write paper for a conference and to develop competence in oral communications to orient them for their personality development, participating in seminars, interaction with corporate world etc. PEO 5 (Professional Skills) – To train the students on profitability, accountability, values and ethics and balanced behavior to ensure viability and usefulness of each and every service provided by them in a multidisciplinary environment. iv B.Tech EE/MAKAUT Regulation 2010 Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) PEO6 (Social Awareness)– To make the students aware about the social concerns and responsibilities in the workplace. PEO7 (Life-long Learning)– To motivate the students for continued professional training and adaptability to changes in the workplace through formal and informal education. PEO8 (Industry Orientation) – To provide the students with opportunities for vocational training, industry visits and give exposure to them with seminars by experienced industry personnel and arrange day-long open interactive sessions with industry persons. All these shall be done with an objective to make the students industry-ready. PEO9 (Higher Study & Research) – To create opportunities for the students to work in minor and major projects and arrange presentation of the projects to eminent academicians and industry professionals and to encourage participation of these projects in national and international competitions. All these shall be done to prepare and motivate the students to go for higher studies and research. v B.Tech EE/MAKAUT Regulation 2010 Program Outcomes (POs) PO1: Graduates will be demonstrating basic knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering. PO2: Graduates will be demonstrating the ability to design and conduct experiments, interpret and analyze data, and report results. PO3: Graduates will be demonstrating the ability to design an electrical system or a process that meets desired specifications and requirements. PO4: Graduates will be demonstrating the ability to function on engineering and science laboratory teams, as well as on multidisciplinary design teams. PO5: Graduates will be demonstrating the ability to identify, formulate and solve electrical engineering problems. PO6: Graduates will be demonstrating an understanding of their professional and ethical responsibilities. PO7: Graduates will be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. The analysis is based on the review of existing resources, technical data, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, as well as the following technical reports prepared for the Proposed Project, in conformance with the County of San Diego (County) Report Requirements or other applicable standards. Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Jacumba (Appendix 2.4-1) Draft Fire Protection Plan – Jacumba Solar Energy Project (Appendix 2.4-2) For a discussion on the Proposed Project’s impacts on public services, refer to Section 3.1.6, Public Services. This section is divided into an analysis of potential hazards to public safety and the environment related to hazardous materials, airports, emergency response and evacuation plans, and wildland fire. The discussion of hazards and hazardous materials describes sites with known hazardous materials contamination, sites with potential hazardous materials contamination, hazardous materials transportation, hazardous materials disposal, and hazardous materials release threats. The discussion of airports examines existing airport facilities and potential operational hazards within the County, and specifically within the Proposed Project area. The discussion of emergency response and evacuation plans identifies operations and plans that exist to protect lives and property in the event of a disaster within the County. Because grade-school students often lack access to formal research institutions, we expect that the work submitted by students may come from classroom-based projects, science fair projects, or other forms of mentor-supervised research. JEI is a non-profit group run and operated by graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and professors across the United States.     The electromagnetic field and people ON PHYSICS, BIOLOGY, MEDICINE, STANDARDS, AND THE 5G NETWORK We are pleased to present this publication, which discusses, in a compre- hensible manner, the most important issues related to the radio-frequency electromagnetic field. It is those fields that allow us to enjoy radio and television broadcasts and to use mobile phones. Thus, it is the basis for a trouble-free and fast flow of information, which is the foundation of our civilization nowadays. This publication is divided into four sections. The first three sections answer the most frequently asked questions about electromagnetic waves. What are they? What are their effects on the human body? How are they measured and what regulations apply to them? The fourth section briefly explains the relationship between the electromagnetic field and telecommunication, and what the next generation of cellular networks, i.e. 5G, is.
