Focusing on enriching fundamental academic abilities and cultivating research skills Kansai University Senior High School’s curriculum is distinguished by the Department of Safety Science, a specialized program that prepares students for additional study on the university level. Normal subjects are progressively enriched with specialized subjects with a view toward students’ continuation of their studies at Japan’s elite and highly selective national universities. In addition, the Senior High School earned the designation of Kansai University Super Global High School (SGH) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology this academic year. The school is dedicated Senior High School to preparing students to serve as global leaders by having them refine their project-based studies, which focus on cultivating students’ ability to explore the world around them, while conducting graduation thesis research on topics such as global society and global business. English Day Intensive two-day English programs are offered to 7th graders and 8th graders. The 8th graders develop their self-expression skills in English, in preparation for their planned study tour to Canada in the 9th grade. They also undertake activities including discussions and presentations about history, geography, and other information related to their destination. A program is provided for the 7th graders from Taiwan from Japan to, under the direction of native English-speaking teachers, to Japan to Taiwan learn how to perform in a play in English and how to express themselves and then present their accomplishments by working in collaboration with their classmates. These programs are conducted entirely in English.
