Here we provide evidence that specific components of Drosophila melanogaster ribosomes copurify with linker histone H1. Using various experimental approaches, we demonstrate that this association of nuclear ribosomal proteins with histone H1 is specific, and that colocalization occurs on condensed chromatin in vivo. Chromatin immunoprecipitation analysis confirmed that specific ribosomal proteins are associated with chromatin in a histone H1-dependent manner. Overexpression of either histone H1 or ribosomal protein L22 in Drosophila cells resulted in global suppression of the same set of genes, while depletion of H1 and L22 caused up-regulation of tested genes, suggesting that H1 and ribosomal proteins are essential for transcriptional gene repression. Overall, this study provides evidence for a previously undefined link between ribosomal proteins and chromatin, and suggests a role for this association in transcriptional regulation in higher eukaryotes.     EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Decapitation. Dismemberment. Serial killers. Graphic gore. Hey, Kids! COMICS!! Since the release of The Dark Knight film series and the 22 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, comic-book characters have become wildly popular in other forms of entertainment, particularly television. But broadcast TV’s representations of comic-book characters are no longer the bright, colorful, and optimistic figures of the past. Children are innately attracted to comic-book characters; but in today’s comic book-based programs, children are being exposed to graphic violence, profanity, dark and intense themes, and other inappropriate content. In this research report, the PTC examined comic book-themed prime-time programming on the maJor broadcast networks during November, February, and May “sweeps” periods from November 2012 through May 2019. Programs examined were Fox’s Gotham; CW’s Arrow, Black Lightning, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends oF Tomorrow, and Riverdale; and ABC’s Marvel’s Agents oF S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Agent Carter, and Marvel’s Inhumans. Research data suggest that broadcast television programs based on these comic-book characters, created and intended for children, are increasingly inappropriate and/or unsafe for young viewers. In its research, the PTC found the following during the study period: • In comic book-themed programming with particular appeal to children, young viewers were exposed to over 6,000 incidents of violence, over 500 deaths, and almost 2,000 profanities. • The most violent program was CW’s Arrow. Young viewers witnessed 1,241 acts of violence, including 310 deaths, 280 instances of gun violence, and 26 scenes of people being tortured.

The pagans, such as: Egyptians, Chaldaics, Babylo­ nians, Romans, Greeks, etc. had developed philosophical schools like Aristotelism, Neo-Platonism, Mazdaism, Shamani­ sm, Gnosticism. The literary, religious and philosophical pattern of the competitions between pagans and Jews, Christians or Mu­ slims enables missionary wise to compare the teachings and be­ liefs in an effort to prove the superiority of one or another reli­ gion. The tales begin with a general discussion of religion and prophecy and continue with descriptions of each of the three re­ ligions: principles, questions and objections followed by replies of the faithful and the heathen who will come round to new faith. The aim of any religious dispute is the conversion and thus the philosopher, the magian, the persian indovine, the wise, the Jewish scholar, the Christian monk ascetic or the caliph ex­ pound their faith. An early, unique and strange book seems to be Bardesanes' The Dialogue of the Laws of Nations1 which dates back to the end of the third century, or short time after Barde­ sanes’ death in 222. The text, written in Syrian language, is a synthesis2 of the chaldaic astrology, the stoic and aristotelic phi­ losophy, the ethnographic aspects of customs and institutions of different countries, the oriental wisdom and Christianity.
