The original nomination included only Bahia Honda Channel Bridge, Seven Mile Bridge, and Long Key Bridge. The amendment expands the old nomination, adding the other twenty bridges to create a discontiguous district that includes all twenty-three of the intact Flagler railroad bridges in the Overseas Railway/Highway. Historically, the official name of the series of bridges was the Key West Extension of the Florida East Coast Railway.
