Along with the road upgrade, a recent announcement by the Federal Government to install a mobile phone tower at this and three other communities, in the coming years will add to their accessibility. The Lasseter Region includes the iconic and World Heritage listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and Watarrka National Park, The Lasseter Region Destination Management Plan (DMP) location of the famous landmark Kings Canyon. The Region is identifies key strengths and assets across the Region. The plan associated with remarkable landscapes, pioneering history and considers visitation demand insights, existing planning and rich Aboriginal culture. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE Date: 1987-2003 Extent: 42 audiocassettes (15 hours, 28 minutes) Production history These recordings were collected by Kenneth Hansen and Lesley Hansen between 1987 and 2003 during fieldwork at Papunya, Kintore, Kiwirrkurra and Titjikala in the Northern Territory of Australia. The purpose of the field trips was to document the Pintupi-Luritja language spoken at these locations. Nhulunbuy was named Best Large Community, Santa Teresa named Best Medium Community and Wallace Rockhole named Best Small Community. No sooner were the desserts served than the announcement was made. Santa Teresa was named the 2018 Territory Tidy Towns. After years of continually trying again and improving their community Santa Teresa staff, residents and stakeholders received the recognition they deserved – their just desserts! They have worked very hard building their community engagement, collaboration and pride. Wallace Rockhole also received a major award when it was named the Best Small Community. Our communities of Finke, Imanpa and Hermannsburg along with the school in Areyonga were also acknowledged on the night for their efforts. These outstanding achievements along with the input by all communities who participated, no doubt contributed to MacDonnell Regional Council being named the Best Regional Council for the fifth consecutive year. -

2021 Alice Springs Community Services Directory Communities for Children – Anglicare NT Since 2010, Anglicare NT in Alice Springs has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services as the Facilitating Partner for Communities for Children. The Facilitating Partner subcontracts Community Partners to deliver place-based, evidence- based early intervention activities in order to provide positive and sustainable outcomes for the most vulnerable and at-risk children, up to 12 years of age, and their families in Alice Springs. Our current Community Partners are Akeyulerre, FAST NT, Lutheran Community Care, Multicultural Community Services Central Australia, Red Cross and Relationships Australia. These organisations deliver a number of activities that promote Communities for Children’s objectives and vision. In addition to this, Communities for Children is working collaboratively in a Collective Impact Initiative with Connected Beginnings, Larapinta Child and Family Centre and Red Cross to promote Child Friendly Alice with the aim of encouraging greater integrated service delivery in Alice Springs. In 2021 Communities for Children will continue its strong focus on creating interconnected systems and networks, of supporting new ways of working together with local community that will help children thrive and make the most of their potential.
