SABAH CHIEF LAJIM SET TO LEAD SABAH PKR EXIT? Malaysia Today October 1, 2016 By MT Webmaster (MMO) – Several Sabah PKR leaders are expected to join former vice-president Darell Leiking and resign from the party starting tomorrow, sources familiar with the matter have said. According to a source, among the leaders looking to leave PKR include its state chief and Sabah veteran lawmaker Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin. “Lajim is one of the people that’s very sure of leaving,” one of the sources told Malay Mail Online. Another PKR source also confirmed that “a few” Sabah leaders will be leaving the party as soon as tomorrow. When contacted, Lajim however did not want to comment on the matter and curtly said to wait for tomorrow’s announcement, if there is any. “Wait till tomorrow. I’m not making any statement now. We are still deciding,” he told Malay Mail Online tonight. Lajim is slated to have an event tomorrow afternoon, where he is expected to announce his “next direction”. Other leaders who were also rumoured to leave PKR are Sabah deputy chief Christina Liew, Moyog Assemblyman Terence Siambun, as well as Junz Wong from DAP. It is still unsure however that if these leaders will be joining Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s new Sabah-based party. Last month, former PKR vice-president Darell Leiking started the ball rolling by leaving the party, ostensibly to join Shafie. Leiking had accompanied the former Umno vice-president to the Registrar of Societies in Putrajaya for the latter’s bid to take over an existing Sabah-based party and to set up a new multiracial one.
