INAUGURATION OF “HYDARI GALLERY” AT CHENNAI RAIL MUSEUM

Established in the year 2002 by the then Railway Minster, Shri Nitish Kumar, the Chennai Rail Museum situated near ICF Furnishing Division in New Road, attracts about 7000 visitors on an average per month. The Museum has many rare artifacts of heritage value of with star attractions of steam engines, Joy train, Children’s park, Art Gallery, Photo Gallery, Indoor and Outdoor Exhibits, etc,.

As outdoor exhibits, life size models of Coach, GM Inspection car, MG EMU, Hospital van, a hand operated crane, an overhead equipment car, Meter gauge EMU, different types of engine(Steam, Diesel and flower stream plough engine) etc.. are also available.

Adding to its magnificent collections, a new Gallery named as “HYDARI GALLERY” which includes Rail Heritage Photos, scale models and three tier running models of various Coaches apart from providing amusement to the younger ones will be of informational value for the elders.

Kalaimamani Smt. Urmila Satyanarayana, Bharathanatiyam Exponent and Smt. Sarala Banerjee, Director of Art World, Fine Art Gallery, Chennai inaugurated this gallery in the presence of Shri S.Mani, General Manager/ICF, Shri Arun Devraj, Curator, Chennai Rail Museum/ICF and other Senior Officials of ICF will be present during the inauguration
