Public Meeting

Clinton County Public Transit (CCPT) is considering increases and route changes for implementation on January 1st, 2020.

The proposed fare increases include a $1 increase across the board on on the regular routes, an increase in fares on the Rural Zone service from $5 to $10, and an increase in price of student passes from $20 to $30.

The proposed bus route changes include a restructuring of the South Connector, Uptown Downtown, and West End routes into South End, North End, and West End bus routes. Also, Saturday service will be handled through a Saturday route instead of the Uptown Downtown and South Connector routes. The stop times on the CCC Seasonal route at Broad Street Commons will be adjusted slightly.

As a result of the restructuring, the following locations would be handled differently than they are now: Deviation to Eye Care for the Adirondacks would be handled by the North End route instead of by the South route. Passengers from Flynn Avenue going to Eye Care for the Adirondacks would need to change at the government center. Beekman Towers would become an hourly scheduled stop on the North End route. The CVPH main entrance would become an upon-request stop instead of a scheduled stop. The West End route would start from the government center and would no longer serve BHSN in Morrisonville. BHSN would still be a stop on the Lyon Mountain and Clayburg Routes. Hammond Lane would be available by deviation only instead of as an upon-request stop. Having the West End route start from the government center should reduce the number of transfers needed between buses for some passengers. Other changes may be included.

CCPT will be hosting a public information meeting on Tuesday October 22nd, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the legislative chambers on the second floor of the Clinton County Government Center; 137 Margaret Street; Plattsburgh, NY 12901 to discuss the proposed service changes and receive public input.
