In good unmarked condition with some light wear and creasing to covers. [1] 2 fleetnumber BONNET PLATE and Registration NUMBER PLATE from AEC Regent RT 2906 (MLL80 653). The original bus with this number entered service at Alperton garage in 1952 and the final RT 2906 was withdrawn at Seven Kings garage in 1974, being scrapped the same year. Both plates are in ex-vehicle condition.[2] 3 London Underground ENAMEL ROUNDEL SIGN from King's Cross St Pancras Station. This is a medium-size sign950 measuring 51'' (131cm) across by 42'' (107cm) high, estimated to date from the 1980s/90s, and comes complete with brass frame. It has been mounted on board for display purposes. In excellent condition. [1] 4 Set of Green Line Coach leaflets bearing names of former independent companies comprising Route AW dated25 26-4-32 and 1-6-32 (both Bucks Expresses (Watford) Ltd), Route BG dated 5-8-32 (Skylark Motor Coach Co Ltd) and Route CF dated 24-8-32 (Regent Coach Service). All lightly used, the last has some stains. [4] 5 1930s LGOC/LPTB PANEL TIMETABLES comprising routes 79/115/620 (25-3-32), 494/194 (30.12.30), 113 (28.2.34),40 418/70B & 70D (25.4.34) and 81 (17-2-37). All with some wear/damage to varying degrees. [5] 6 London Transport 'Gibson' no. 21391, a letter codes machine which appears to be in working250 order and prints a good ticket with 'London Transport' still on the plate. Comes with a suitable box, somewhat battered, leather strap is broken. [2] 7 London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line route 706 destinated Watford, Tring, Aylesbury.160 This plate may have been located in or near Edgware. Good, ex-use condition. [1] 8 London Underground 1922 MAP OF THE ELECTRIC RAILWAYS OF LONDON - WHAT TO SEE AND HOW TO .80 Edition dated 1-3-22. Designed by MaDonald Gill, this attractive map uses calligraphy for the station names and features a decorative border. Double-sided and made of a perspex-like32 material, this features the traditional scrolled Bristol logo and is believed to date from the 1960s. In good, used condition. Apart from a child's pencil scribble marks in a few places, this is in very good, lightly-used condition. [1] 15 Ltd 1931 COACH SERVICE GUIDE on fold-out card with a cover illustration of a country road46 and full details of all Green Line service in the pre-London Transport era, including a map showing the location of Poland St Coach Station. This is the sought-after first edition with print-code 634/50M/10-3-31. In good, unmarked condition [1] 16 London 's ENAMEL PSV BADGE 'N 4023' from the 1931-35 period, the last issue of the enamel badges100 before the switch to the bakelite, later plastic versions. A double-sided badge in well-used condition with some enamel loss and corrosion at the edges, [1] 17 London Transport pocket-sized BUS MAPS comprising No 1, 1935, Number 3 1939 and the 1960 (1060) editions.20 The 1939 issue is in excellent condition, the others are in used condition. Very good condition. [1] 21 1/50-scale, motorised (untested) MODEL of London trolleybus H1 771 (771 ELB) on route 629. Highly-detailed conversion0 (4-wheel version) from a plastic Hong Kong model bus and designed to operate on a layout with power drawn through the booms. In used condition with some windows, a seat and driver figure separated. One of 7 similar, superb models in this sale. [1] 22 London Underground ENAMEL FRIEZE PLATE for the Bakerloo Line with the line name on the bar of a traditional65 LT bullseye. In very good condition with minor blemishes only. [1] 23 London Transport 'DOLLY STOP', a temporary bus stop used for diversions, emergencies etc. This is the 'Compulsory120 Bus Stop' version and is the 'head' of the stop, which would have fitted onto a metal pole with a concrete base. It consists of two back-to-back enamel plates inside a steel frame. Small chips to one side and minor corrosion to the frame but overall very good. [1] 24 Large selection of London bus PUNCH TICKETS comprising London Passenger Transport Board 1930s 'Fareboard'40 short & long type for routes from 1-136 with values 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 5d & 6d [99 tickets with some duplication], 1940s London Transport Buses 'geographical' type for routes 151 & 156/164 with values1 1/2d, 2d, 2 1/2d, 3d, 4d, 5d, 6d, & 7d [44 tickets with duplication] and 39 London Transport T&T 'dead & dumb' tickets with 5d & 6d values. Double-sided and dated20 July 1961 with an October 1961 timetable extract pasted on, this is the very last issue and was obtained on the last night of London - 8/9 May 1962 - by the vendor, then a conductor at the depot. Printed on card, the chart is in worn condition with edge-damage and creasing. [1] See also Lot 259. 26 The ''District Railway'' MINIATURE MAP OF LONDON from c1890. A Victorian issue of the Underground map 160which shows the DR extension from Fulham to Wimbledon as open (it opened in 1889) and depicts it as an additional panel at the top left-hand side. The 'Miniature Map of London' series ran from c1881-1892. This copy is in very good condition, crisp and firm, with just a couple of age-spots and a trace of adhesive on the outer spine. A poster-sized version110 of the map as posted at District Railway stations and equivalent to the 6th edition of the maps issued to the public. Shows the service to Barking and on to Southend as open. Has been stored folded and has some small partings at the fold-corners but generally good condition. An unusual version. [1] 30 Enamel 'bullseye' STOCK-NUMBER PLATE from London Underground 1938 Tube Stock Non-Driving Motor Car60 12076. These plates were located above the inter-connecting doors at each end of the car. Some minor edge damage and small chips around the screw-holes but on good overall, ex-car condition. One of a pair - see Lot 323 for the matching plate. [1] 31 London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line route 718 destinated Chingford, Epping, .150 This plate may have been located in or near Walthamstow. A chip in the bottom left corner has been touched in but otherwise in good, ex-use condition. [1] 32 London Transport WW2 ''BUS TROLLEYBUS & TRAM ROUTES - CENTRAL AREA'', issue No 1, 1944. A wartime issue60 when the publishing of the usual maps was prohibited as a precaution against aiding the enemy but the presence of large numbers of allied servicemen in London resulted in a need for some information. Produced in the fold-out style of the pre-war maps but just a list of routes and places served and only 12,000 printed. Very few of these have survived. In excellent condition. [1] 33 London Transport Tramways double-sided CARD FARECHART dated October 1947 for routes 28 (Victoria Station45 & Clapham Junction) and 34 (Blackfriars & King's Road, Chelsea). In ex-tramcar condition with wear and marks. [1] 34 London Transport COMPLETE ROAD AND RAIL TIMETABLE for Amersham, Chesham, Great Missenden and District0 dated December 1941, issue 60 from a series which ran from Dec 1936 until Feb 1972. Black ink & other stains on the front cover but the contents are good. [1] 35 London Transport enamel bus stop E-PLATES for route 100 'Tourist Bus' (red background) and 107A Mon-Fri Special75 Journeys Sat-Sun. Ex-bus stop condition, the former has some face chips. [2] 36 Metropolitan Electric, London United and South Metropolitan Electric Tramways c1913/14 ROUTE MAP AND GUIDE75 TO THE TRAMWAY SYSTEMS. No date or print-code but same style as Underground maps of this period. A couple of fold-partings and some age-wear but very reasonable condition for this series which was printed on poor-quality paper. [1] 37 London Transport ALLOCATION PLATES for Willesden (AC), opened 1912 and still operational, Dorking55 (DS), operational 1932-1990 and (HE), operational 1929-1977. In ex-use condition, the AC example a bit battered and with a securing hole added. [3] 38 Tri-ang (Lines Brothers Ltd) large TIN-PLATE MODEL BUS of the single-decker, Green Line type produced from120 1957 on. A version in the less-common turquoise colour. In play-worn condition with a replacement radiator grille. [1] 39 London Underground ENAMEL LINE DIAGRAM from Paddington Station for the westbound service (Platform140 1) on the District and Circle Lines. The diagram was sited at the entrance to the platform. Thought to date from 2007 as it shows the interchange to the Overground at Kensington (Olympia) and West Brompton. The sign measures 60'' (152cm) high by 41'' (104cm) wide and is in very good condition. [1] 40 London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line route 715 destinated Enfield, Hoddesdon, Hertford.160 This plate would probably have been located in the Finsbury Park to Palmers Green section of the route. In good, ex-use condition. [1] 41 London Underground ENAMEL BULLSEYE STATION SIGN ''South Kensington'' from the District & Circle Line station380 which opened in 1868. The sign is flanged and measures 24'' (61cm) square. Apart from some small chips along the edges and on the flange, it is in very good condition. [1] 42 London Transport Officials' TIMETABLE of Central Area Buses in operation on and from Wednesday, January 12,80 1938. 248pp booklet ''For the information of the Board's Officials'', one of the series which ran from 1936 to 1978 and were known as the inspectors' 'Red Books'. In very good condition. [1] 43 London Country (LT-manufactured) BUS DESTINATION BLIND dated 3.10.73 for an RF single-decker (code L, front50 box) at Dartford (DT) garage. Complete, including hems, and in good, ex-vehicle condition. [1] 44 London Transport fleetnumber BONNET PLATE from 6-wheeled AEC Renown LT 374. The original bus to carry220 this number entered service at Nunhead garage in 1931, the final LT374 was refurbished by Marshall's in 1948 and withdrawn at Upton Park in January 1950, being scrapped immediately. The bonnet plate was obtained at Daniels scrapyard, Rainham and is in ex-vehicle, ex-scrapyard condition but very reasonable. [1] 45 London Transport Routemaster 'BULLSEYE' BADGE of the type fitted above the grille of RM buses from 1958 140until 1965 (after which the triangular type was fitted and retro-fitted). This is a scarce survivor - a genuine, original badge in good, ex-vehicle condition. [1] See Lot 325 for the even scarcer green 'Country' version of this badge. 46 London General Omnibus Company Motor-bus MAP & GUIDE dated November 1913 from the first series of London40 bus maps which ran from 1911-1914. Some folds have been repaired with archive tape but otherwise the map is in good condition. [1] 47 London Passenger Transport Board CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE dated July 1946, signed by Lord Ashfield and presented15 to a retiring employee with 26 years' service. Colourfully illustrated with the coats of arms of London and the home counties, buses, trains, street furniture and landmarks etc. A little age-darkened towards the bottom but good overall. [1] 48 Bus BELL PUSHES comprising a bakelite example, thought to be pre-WW2, and a chrome version, estimated 1950s.50 The manufacturer of both is Bonnella and they are in well-used but still good condition. [2] 49 London Transport enamel BUS STOP FLAG combining Bus and Red Arrow services and dating from the late 1960s/early65 1970s. A double-sided sign of the hollow 'boat' style. In very good, ex-use condition with minor blemishes only. The e-plate runners were removed by LT after use. [1] 50 London Underground enamelled CAP BADGES from the 1977/78 issue comprising Railman/Guard, 2 x Motorman22 and Road Trainer. Good condition. Double-sided with service 4 on one side and services 1-3 plus Fulwell Depôt workings on the other. In well-used condition with considerable wear but a scarce survivor not seen at auction before. All in good to excellent condition. [5] 54 London Transport GS bus GUY INDIAN HEAD MASCOT complete with enamelled LT BULLSEYE PLATE and mounted250 on original radiator filler cap cover. Full provenance on label inside, believed to be correct, ie removed from vehicle GS14 after flood damage at Leatherhead bus garage in 1968. Unit has been refurbished in correct colours and is in excellent condition. Very small chip to edge of enamel plate has been touched in. [1] 55 London General Omnibus Company 1920 LEAFLET ''LIST OF MOTOR-BUS ROUTES - Services working during week40 January 12 to 18.'' Issue no.2, 1920. In lightly-used, good condition. [1] 56 Pair of London Transport enamel bus stop Q-PLATES for routes 36B, 47, 108B & 89, 94, 122, 151, 192. This is320 the matched pair from both sides of a bus stop in Lewisham, believed to date from the early 1970s and probably unique. In good, ex-use condition with a few minor edge-chips. [2] 57 London Transport FLAG. A double-sided sign with two enamel plates inside a bronze frame, of the550 style introduced in the 1930s and used until the end of the system in 1952. This is the compulsory stop version and both the plates and the frame are in excellent condition. [1] 58 London Transport bus FRONT REGISTRATION NUMBER PLATE 'BLH 890' ex STL 1043, a Country Area, front-entrance35 bus which entered service at Swanley garage in 1935 and finished as a learner bus at Hounslow garage in 1951 when it was sold for scrap. The rough condition of the paint and transfers suggests that the bus (or the plate) may have been exposed to the elements in the scrapyard for some time. [1] 59 LCC Tramways GUIDEBOOK ''Round and About London by Tram - Volume I - North of the Thames.'' 2nd edition,30 undated but contains the November 1927 LCC Tramways Map & Timetable. A 222-page illustrated guide to London attractions reached by tram including a list of routes, , details of all-night trams etc. Cover illustration of a welcoming tram on a wet winter's evening by H A Powell. In used but reasonable condition, cover a bit loose. [1] 60 London Transport TIMETABLE of Buses, Coaches & Main Line Rlys for Western Area for October 1935 complete80 with fold-out maps of Railways, Green Line and Country Bus services. In good, unmarked condition, lightly used only with a short scratch to the front cover. This plate may have been located in Trafalgar Square or Street. In good, ex-use condition, the blemish to the 'B' was made during manufacture. [1] 63 1/50-scale MODEL of London 'Diddler' trolleybus 4 (HX 3983) on route 4 in 1930s livery operated by London 150United. Highly detailed and accurate. Origin unknown, appears to be hand-built. In good overall condition but some tyres are damaged and some top-deck seats missing. One of 7 similar, superb models in this sale. Dating from the 1950/60s,30 these porcelain finials were located at the top of the bus stop pole to indicate which services stopped there, in this case both buses and Green Line coaches. Unusually, this set remains on its original metal rod. In ex-use condition. The plate is made of bronze (we believe) with enamel inlays in green, black and white, featuring the company name in the Underground Group bar & circle motif. A scarce item not recorded at auction before. In ex-vehicle condition with some wear and loss of shine. [1] 71 London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line route 713 destinated Borehamwood, St Albans,230 Dunstable. This plate may have been located at Golders Green or perhaps Mill Hill. Destinated e-plates for route 713 are very scarce. In good, ex-use condition with small chips at the edges where it was inserted into the runners. [1] (see Lot 394 for the matching plate for the 712 service) 72 London Transport TIMETABLE of Buses, Coaches & Main Line Rlys for South-West Area for August 1934 - the second0 issue - complete with fold-out maps of Railways, Green Line and Country Bus services. In used condition but still a good copy. [1] 73 London Underground ENAMEL ROUNDEL SIGN from Oxford Circus Station. This is a medium-size sign measuring1100 44'' (112cm) across by 36'' (92cm) high, estimated to date from the 1980s/90s, and comes complete with brass frame. It has been mounted on board for display purposes. In excellent condition. [1] 74 1937 London Transport POSTER MAP of Green Line Coach & Country Bus Routes. Approx quad-royal size and210 made for posting in bus shelters, at bus stations etc. A unique version in that there was no equivalent pocket-sized issue. Has been stored folded and has suffered some crumpling but still displays well. [1] 75 London Transport Routemaster BONNET FLEETNUMBER PLATE from RMC1492. The first Green Line Routemaster60 coach with this number entered service at Epping garage in 1962 and the last finished as a red-liveried training vehicle at Westbourne Park in 1995. In ex-vehicle condition. [1] 76 London Underground LINEN-CARD MAP 'Map of London's Underground Railways' designed by Frederick H Stingemore70 from the 1925-32 series which preceded the Beck designs. This is the first of the larger issues from c1928-9 with a pale green cover. It pre-dates the Piccadilly Line extension. In excellent condition, near-mint except for a trace of adhesive on one reverse edge and a tiny spot on the map-side. [1] 77 1925-6 London bus worker's TRADE UNION EPHEMERA issued to Joseph Hamer of the Garage Inside Staff at Hounslow35 Garage and comprising 3 different fold-out member's contribution cards for 1925/6, October 1925 Memorandum of Agreement between the LGOC & the T&GWU and 3 x official PICKET CARDS issued during the General Strike. In used but very reasonable condition. [7] See also Lot 189 for further 1926 General Strike ephemera. 78 The ''District Railway'' MAP of London, 5th edition, c1892/93. A large-scale, full-colour map - linen-backed inside130 paper covers. This is the 3rd of four known variants of this issue and shows the un-named Regent's Canal, City & Docks Railway and the City Lines Undertaking to Barbican as dotted blue lines together with ''District Railway'' in large letters above the central section of the line. Map in very reasonable condition but covers worn and one detached. [1] 79 London Transport bus conductor's 20-unit ticket-rack complete with 20 blocks of unused tickets, all different130 and many of which are complete 100-ticket sets. Values range from 1 1/2d to 8d (2 blocks of geographical tickets noted) plus various Early Morning Single and Scholars' Prepaid blocks. Some of the top tickets are curling but generally in good condition. A very unusual item. [1 + 20] 80 London Transport enamel coach stop E-PLATE for Green Line route 704 destinated Victoria, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge90 Wells. This plate may have been located at Hammersmith or perhaps London (Heathrow). In good, ex-use condition. [1] 81 Extract page from Underground Group archive for 1917 with official file copies of London General BUS TIMETABLES80 for routes 79, 84, 110 (all Feb 1917) plus two alteration leaflets for group publications. Card timetable leaflets have been double-mounted on linen, so as to show both sides, together with a record slip showing printer, quantity issued, date etc. Other than at our previous sale, it is not believed that these WW1 era LGOC route timetables have been offered at auction before. Some fraying to the linen and a little darkening to the leaflets in places but generally good. [1 item with 8 attachments.] 82 Thames Conservancy ENAMEL LICENCE PLATE for a private pleasure vessel, Register No 3393, for the year of 1944.38 The Thames Conservancy existed from 1857 to 1974 and was responsible for issuing annual licences to all craft on the river, this task today being carried out by the Environment Agency. Some chipping to the enamel at the edges but overall in good condition. [1] 83 London Transport TIMETABLE of Buses, Coaches & Main Line Rlys for North-West Area for November 1936 complete32 with fold-out maps of Railways, Green Line and Country Bus services. In well-used condition with considerable wear. [1] 84 London General Omnibus Company 1920s ENAMEL SIGN ''MOTOR BUSES - TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENTS'' believed260 to have been located in an enquiry office or at a bus garage to indicate where publicity leaflets for route changes etc were available. A very attractive sign with the 'General' bullseye logo in Underground Group style. Measures 6'' x 8 1/2'' (15cm x 21cm). A couple of corner chips and very minor corrosion at the foot, otherwise excellent. [1] 85 London General Omnibus Company double-sided, fold-out LEAFLET ''ALTERED MOTOR-BUS ROUTE No. 39'' dated30 August 1922 and giving details of alteration to provide additional capacity on heavily-loaded sections of routes 8 and 11. Includes map of routes 39 and 20. Small inscription of date on cover, otherwise good condition. Both plates are weathered, with some corrosion at the base of the second one (which was re-used by London Country and bears stickers for route 707 on the reverse), and have been treated with a coat of clear lacquer. This is thought to have been located at Hendon Central Underground station but this is not confirmed. The two bullseye logos with lining out suggest the immediate post-WW2 period. A magnificent, probably unique, sign in superb condition with barely a blemish. [1] 139 1902 Central London Railway fold-out MAP produced by the ''Tuppenny Tube'' to promote its service from Bank85 to Shepherds Bush. The line is superimposed in red on a street-map background and shows the generating station and depôt at the western end with an inset plan of the subways at Bank on the top right. It is belived that these badges were rigorously withdrawn by the licensing authority upon replacement by subsequent types and disposed of as landfill, hence the odd survivor's considerable corrosion as is the case with this example. [1] 188 A 1930s Chad Valley pressed aluminium TOY BUS, a model of STL446 on route 25. With a detatchable roof as a 0lid, this formed a biscuit tin for Carr's Biscuits and, thereafter, a child's toy with working wheels. A high-quality toy for its time with accurate detailing of fleetname, destination blinds, garage codes and even the LPTB legal lettering. With just light wear, a few scratches and light mottling to the 'windows', this is a fine example. A wartime65 issue, dated March 1941, and a smaller-size chart produced to fit the UCC 'Feltham' tramcars which had been transferred to Brixton depot after withdrawal from the North London and Uxbridge Road routes. Light horizontal fold-creases and a little stained from use in places but mainly good. [1] 194 London Transport GIBSON TICKET MACHINE. This is a Central Area machine (no 32983) which, most unusually,1600 has not been converted to decimal and prints in original shillings and pence (2d to 1/3). In working order and comes with original (old-style) box, harness, spare ticket rolls, emergency-ticket pack, coin bags, -chart and various 1950s/60s forms & leaflets, eg conductor's instructions, unpaid fares, auxiliary waybill etc. The contents suggest it was originally used at Clapham garage and, finally, around 1966, on an RT-type bus on route 1 out of New Cross garage. The best Gibson we have ever seen. 195 London Transport fleetnumber BONNET PLATE from AEC Regent RT 3944. The original bus of this number entered130 service at Croydon garage in 1950 and the last was withdrawn from New Cross in 1971, the vehicle being scrapped later that year. Good, ex-vehicle condition.[1] 196 London General Omnibus Company Ltd fold-out LEAFLET of Motor and Horse Routes dated November 1910 800from the monthly series which ran from June 1910 to February 1911. Cover has illustration of early motor-bus and contents include details of motor services 1-25 and horse services 32-92. A scarce survivor in lightly-used condition with a fold-parting at one panel but otherwise good. It is a linen-card map in the larger size of the later editions. It is in very good, unmarked condition with just very minor ageing marks to the cover. [1] 200 London Underground ENAMEL LINE DIAGRAM from Paddington Station for the District and Circle Lines. Thought170 to date from 2007 as it shows the interchange to the Overground at Euston, Kensington (Olympia) and West Brompton. This 200plate may well have been located in North Finchley or Barnet and is a very early example (estimated early 1950s) which uses the word 'via'. Made by National Signs of Hendon with Registered Design No 659814 of 1916/17. 72'' (183cm) square and in two equal-size parts, it has some chips from when removed as well as some loss at the bottom r/h corner. [1] 303 c1911 London Underground MAP issued independently by the Central London Railway but using a standard 220London Electric Railway map on one side with the CLR's own map and information on the reverse. Interestingly, the LER map dates from some 2 years earlier and does not yet carry the UndergrounD logo. Both maps show the CLR extension to Liverpool Street under construction. Lightly used with some cover wear and a few very small partings at fold-corners but overall a very reasonable copy of this scarce map. [1] 308 1887 District Railway ''COUNTRY MAP OF THE ENVIRONS OF LONDON'', a series which ran from 1883 to 1898.110 Pocket-sized, linen-backed map inside hard covers with many illustrations of London sights. The map has the various counties in different background colours and shows the DR connections with the Metropolitan and main-line railways, reaching to St Albans in the north and Dorking in the south. Has a 3'' (8cm) fold tear and a child's scribbles on the blank linen reverse. Nonetheless a very reasonable copy of this scarce issue. [1] 309 London Underground Metropolitan Line 1950s/60s ENAMEL FRIEZE PLATE from a station shared with the northern180 section of the Circle Line, whose colour appears on the upper edge. Destinated plates for provincial operators are very unusual, particularly this example with the operator's name in brackets. This plate is quite140 likely to have been located in Romford. In good, ex-use condition. [1] 321 London Transport enamel bus stop timetable panel HEADER PLATE ''LONDON TRANSPORT'', the type introduced140 around 1934/5 following the dropping of the 'General' fleetname (see lot 178) . This is the red version for the Central Area. These plates were generally replaced by a re-designed version later in the 1930s (see lot 125) and this is a scarce survivor. Very slight corrosion at the edges but excellent overall with a good shine. [1] 322 LCC Tramways FARECHART dated June 1933 for service 7 from Holborn to Parliament Hill Fields. The last LCC issue85 prior to the LPTB takeover. A few edge-nicks and light horizontal fold creases but very good overall. [1] 324 1921 MAP of the Underground Railways of London (with Railway, Bus & Tramway Connections) with the compliments160 of The British Thomson Houston Co Ltd. Clearly produced in co-operation with the Underground, whose logo it bears, and printed by Johnson Riddle, this fold-out map is dated February 1921 and is in the style of the contemporary issues by MacDonald Gill except that the station names are in standard typeface rather than calligraphic style. The map is surrounded by photos of electric rolling stock with BTH equipment. A most unusual item, the map is in good, unmarked condition. [1] 325 London Transport Routemaster Coach 'BULLSEYE' BADGE of the type fitted above the grille of the RMC coaches460 from 1962 until 1967 (after which the triangular type was fitted). This is a very scarce survivor - a genuine, original badge in very good, ex-vehicle condition. This is an uncommon larger-scale version of65 the more usual pocket-sized map and measures 28'' x 12 1/2'' (71cm x 32cm) fully open. It is single-sided and, like the pocket version, has an inset plan of the subways at Bank station and shows the line continuing into the generating station and depot at the western end. Some fraying at the edges and a short tear at the bottom edge. This Green Line coach Routemaster90 entered service at Hertford garage in 1965 and was sold back to London Transport in 1977, becoming a red bus in 1980. This exceptionally interesting q-plate from a bus stop in Dartford contains no fewer than three Green Line routes together with local bus services, including the local, suffix variants of the 423. A small chip at the top edge and some tiny ones at the bottom but otherwise in very good condition. This dates from the 1958-1966 period when the route went to Park Royal Stadium during rush hours but the location is a mystery as double-vertical plates were normally used at bus stations! One of these signs remained on each deck of the bus, along with a GB sign on the rear, throughout its subsequent service life in London which ended in 1967 when it was scrapped. These signs were erected by LT during the War to direct passengers320 to the nearest air-raid shelter in times of emergency. Nonetheless, it still has a good shine and is a very scarce survivor indeed, not seen at auction before. The badge is made of nickel-silver with enamel inlays, comes complete with its original leather strap and is in excellent condition. An exceptionally rare item. [1] 487 London Transport Bus Chief Examiner's CAP BADGE issued in the early 1960s to the senior official responsible for0 the Examiners who conducted driving tests of trainees passing through LT's Chiswick Training School. It is believed that there was only one person in this position and that only a very small number of badges was produced, making this an exceptionally scarce badge. Made of 'gold'-plated metal with enamel inlays, it is in very good condition. [1] 488 London General Omnibus Company 'ON WAR SERVICE' LAPEL BADGE issued during WW1 to staff who were regarded130 as being in a reserved occupation and not to be seen as avoiding military service. [1] 489 ''Pembroke'' driver's/conductor's CAP BADGE from this London independent bus company which operated from400 1924-33, mainly with one bus and on routes 3A & 59A, the business passing to the LPTB in November 1933. Like several independents, the design of the badge closely followed the 'General' in both colour and use of the bar & circle. The badge is in superb condition, probably unused. [1] 490 London General Omnibus Company Ltd Instructor's CAP BADGE inscribed 'No 6', believed to date from the horse-bus0 era, c1890s, and to have been made to fit a bowler hat. Manufactured in brass, this is a large-size badge and is in used but very good condition. [1] 491 London Transport supervisory grade CAP BADGE of experimental design produced in 1972. One of a number in0 different colour schemes, these badges did away with the traditional griffins and the lettering on the bar but were not popular and the traditional designs subsequently returned. This badge has a red circle and yellow bar and may have been for the Underground. Manufactured by Toye, Kenning & Spencer Ltd, it is in very good condition.
