Not everyone who was receiving awards this year was able to attend this function, so they received their awards at following Assembly meetings. These awards included: SK Michael Smerick—60 years of Service to General Worth Assembly SK George Webster—Honorary Life Membership Top Sword Award—Michael Echevarria Family of the Year Award—Ron and Priscilla Harris The Month of May ended in a big way with all of the Memorial Day celebrations, the primary ones being the Honor Guard standings at both the National Cemetery in Dallas, and Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, where dignitaries included the Mayor and the Navy Commander and Navy Chaplain of the Joint Reserve Naval Air Station, who even accompanied us for the Annual Toss of a wreath into the Trinity River from the Bridge. De l’Europe à l’Afrique, de l’Asie à l’Amérique et jusqu’en Océanie, les fidèles des communautés catholiques, Diocèses, Paroisses, associations, groupes ecclésiaux ont renouvelé leur vocation et leur mission de « baptisés et envoyés », thème central du mois qui entendait raviver chez les fidèles la conscience d’être tous appelés à évangéliser. « Ce Mois missionnaire extraordinaire veut constituer une secousse pour nous provoquer à devenir actifs dans le bien. Non pas des notaires de la foi et des gardiens de la grâce mais des missionnaires » a souligné le Pape François. La célébration du Mois missionnaire extraordinaire n’a pas consisté, de manière voulue, en une série d’événements centralisés, apanage du Saint-Siège. Le Pape François a célébré l’ouverture solennelle aux Vêpres du 1er octobre sur la Place Saint Pierre puis toutes les Eglises locales, sur les cinq continents, ont promu des prières, liturgies, témoignages, de manière diffuse et capillaire.
