She is a charming and lively teacher and her Southern-Latino cooking is innovative but based on good understanding of both cultures as well as sound cooking techniques and a practical approach to food. All of this is clearly reflected in her well-written book. I purchased this copy as a gift for a couple - one Southerner and one Latina - who are both interested in cooking. I'm sure they will enjoy using it.
