In 1989 the company officially operated as Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd. A Major milestone in RBC history was to have the honour of being awarded the first HALAL Restaurant as well as F&B outlet (Fastfood) in the Brunei Darussalam. Traditional Heritage Inherited from Mother • Kak Ros Cakes originated from a small household business before being developed by Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) in April 2013. • It specialises in making local delicalies specifically ‘Cake Batik’, a traditional Malay Cake that is popular in Brunei. • Kak Ros Kiosks are currently situated at all Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) restaurants. • These cakes are in high demand especially during festive celebrations of Eid Mubarak and Chinese New Year Festival, Corporate Events and Meetings, Private Occasions such as Wedding and Birthday Celebration. Best-Selling Cakes Cake Batik Kak Ros • Cake Batik Kak Ros was the first cake that launched the Kak Ros Brand which until today is still one of the most popular cakes by Kak Ros. • It has its origins from the traditional Batik Cake recipe handed down from the Chef’s family which has been refined to perfection by fusing traditional ingredients with modern flavours and colourings. • It is made up of dry blend of malt extract and milk powder and Cocoa Powder together with Plain and Chocolate Biscuits. Cake Lapis Seri Brunei (Layer Cake) Traditional Layered cakes have always been a common item in many homes and ceremonies. Cake Lapis Seri Brunei uses the colours of the Brunei Darussalam National Flag. A 5-layer cake which comprises of chocolate, yellow, red and white layers infused with prunes. Cake Batik 4 Daerah (4 Districts) The cake’s colours represents the four districts of Brunei Darussalam. Red represent Belait District, which symbolises the flames of energy from Brunei’s Oil and Gas. Yellow represent Brunei-Muara District, which indicates the traditional seat of the Royal Family. Green represent Temburong District which represents the natural, untouched rainforest. Violet represent Tutong District which is one of the popular colours for Brunei’s traditional Kain Songket.
