THE SILVER GENERATION OFFICE & AMBASSADORS By Agency for Integrated Care The Silver Generation Office (SGO), previously known as the Pioneer Generation Office, reaches out to new groups of seniors aged 65 and above, beyond the Pioneer Generation. It merged with Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), which coordinates services for seniors and their caregivers, in April 2018. This consolidation is part of the Community Networks for Seniors (CNS) programme expansion. Silver Generation (SG) Ambassadors actively reach out to all Singapore Citizens aged 65 and above to share with them activities and services under CNS. With the integration of health and social support services, seniors benefit from more prompt and holistic Community Care and support. I found myself totally caught up with the love stories and the valuable advice from the article “Bring on the romance”. Since reading the article, I’ve been newly- encouraged to make my relationship with my boyfriend work. He is studying overseas and coping with the long distance can be very tedious at times. The article gave me some ideas to spice up the relationship. I am glad to have received the Feb-Apr DUET A big thank you to DUET! issue just before Valentine’s Day. MUI/MO/2 DID : 6359 1180 FAX: 6252 3235 MOSQUE CIRCULAR 014/08 27 November 2008 Chairman/Secretary Mosque Management Board Assalamualaikum wr wb Dear Sir UNIQUE ENTITY NUMBER FOR MOSQUES May you and your Board members and staff be in good health and continue to be showered with Allah SWT blessings. 2 The Singapore Government will introduce the Unique Entity Number (UEN) for registered entities on 1 January 2009 and mosques will be one of those issued with a UEN 3 UEN shall be for registered entities as NRIC is for Singapore citizens. The UEN uniquely identifies the mosque. Mosques will enjoy the convenience of having a single identification number for interaction with the Government, such as submitting their employees’ CPF contributions. 4 The list of UEN numbers for each mosque is attached in Annexe A. In situations where mosques are asked to provide their Business Registration Number (BRN) or Registry of Societies number, they may use their UEN number instead. 5 From 1 January 2009, 52 government agencies such as Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB) and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) will use UEN to interact with entities (both over-the-counter and online interactions). All other government agencies will use UEN from 1 July 2009. 6 For more information on the list of government agencies that will be using UEN and other details, please visit www.uen.gov.sg . Singapore Science Festival 2013 Opens Bigger and Better
SINGAPORE SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2013 OPENS BIGGER AND BETTER Printable solar-powered batteries, eco-friendly jewellery making workshops, and exploring the extreme frontiers of chemistry are just some of the exciting offerings in store at this year’s Festival SINGAPORE, 19 July 2013 – The Singapore Science Festival 2013 kicks off today with the launch of X-periment!, a weekend science carnival held from July 19th to July 21st, by Guest-of-Honour Mr Lim Chuan Poh, Chairman, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) at the Central Atrium in Marina Square. The Festival, co-sponsored by A*STAR and Science Centre Singapore with marketing partner Cityneon, brings together close to 70 exciting events, activities, and exhibitions island wide, from July 19th to August 4th, featuring world-class speakers and science performers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Taglined, ‘Science is Fun’, the nation’s largest annual science event collectively celebrates and showcases science in an attractive, experiential, and relevant manner to everyday life. X-PERIMENT! This year, X-periment! is headlined by internationally renowned science entertainer, Dr Ken Farquhar, who will be performing his ‘Entertaining Science Circus Show’ that demonstrates the science behind some of the common circus feats performed by acrobats across the world. “The Singapore Science Festival is an eagerly anticipated event on our national calendar. This year’s festival is bigger and better and promises to demonstrate how science can be fun through the wide range of events, activities, and exhibitions lined up in the upcoming weeks, including crowd favourites like X-periment!, STAR Lecture, and the Singapore Mini Maker Faire,” said Associate Professor (A/P) Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive, Science Centre Singapore.
