You mustn’t let others influence what subjects you pick. Not your teachers, not your friends and not your parents. THIS IS ABOUT YOU. To stop you from picking subjects based purely on what the teachers say to you, talk to the older years about what the subjects entail as they will have the experience and be able to tell you unbiased accounts of what they are like. We are more than happy to give the insight that we wish we had from older years when we were at this stage. If disaster strikes and the blocks do not allow you to take the options you want, there are still ways around this.

    WILLIAM ELLIS SCHOOL NEWS July 2019 The last week of the summer term saw the boys off timetable for our final Deep Learning Day (DLD) of the year “More in Common”, with the message hope not hate, co-ordinated by Mr Pratt and Ms Conway. Groups were put into houses, giving a mixture of ages to work together, rather than form groups. An image from New Zealand earlier this year after an attack on a mosque. During DLD boys in Year 7 concluded the Oracy project they have been working on over the school year with Mr Singleton and Ms Neve. The project was filmed and will be edited into a Camden’s Oracy Hub film which will be shared with other schools and our parents later in the year. The endless adaptation and reinvention that creates iconography can be both assistance and obstruction to the preservation of authored stories which, unlike classic oral folk tales, were originally composed to a specific and unchanging design. This thesis examines how certain classic stories – Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen,” Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows, and Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass – have been transmuted from set, authored texts to collections of representative elements with wide cultural applications.

    For immediate release: August 23, 2007 MIDDLESEX HOSPITAL MEMORIES IN PICTURES The life and history of The Middlesex Hospital is captured in all its glory with a new book published by UCLH Charities. Middlesex Memories is a wonderful series of photographs and memory vignettes that capture the life and importance of the hospital which was based in Goodge Street and sold in June last year by University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation trust for £175m. This much loved hospital had a very distinguished history stretching back over 250 years and was home to many medical and surgical innovations. But by 2005, time finally ran out for the Middlesex Hospital buildings, as it was overtaken by modern healthcare requirements and its services were decanted to the new University College Hospital. UCL Hospitals is an NHS Foundation Trust incorporating the Eastman Dental Hospital, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson & Obstetric Hospital, The Heart Hospital, Hospital for Tropical Diseases, National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, The Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital and University College Hospital. This book by photographer and erstwhile healthcare planner, Carole Rawlinson, of Muswell Hill, provides a snapshot in time of The Middlesex after it closed. It links pictures of parts of the Middlesex Hospital building to people’s personal memories of the hospital at particular points in their lives as staff or patients. The book does not claim to provide a comprehensive history of The Middlesex, but for anyone associated with the hospital, the pictures will bring their own memories flooding back. UCLH Charities is a registered charity and provides support for patients and staff through training, additional equipment, improvements to clinical services and supporting pioneering research projects within the trust.
