PosterGarden offers trekking pole incentive to help increase year-end support for Portland parks and gardens Supporters who donate $250 or more will receive one of the company’s specially designed trekking poles

Portland, Ore. (Nov. 14, 2012) — In the spirit of giving back this holiday season, PosterGarden is teaming up with some of its favorite Portland parks and gardens to help them raise funds – and to encourage more people to head out and explore them.

Between now and January 31, 2013, anyone who makes a donation of $250 or more to any of the participating parks and gardens will receive a coupon redeemable for one of PosterGarden’s specially-designed Portland Parks and Gardens trekking poles, a $50 value. Proceeds from the sale of the poles currently benefit nine parks and gardens in Portland.

“We love supporting these parks and gardens throughout the entire year,” said Travis Rigby, CEO of PosterGarden. “We thought that offering up a little incentive this holiday season would help kick that up a few notches more.”

The nine parks and gardens who’ve partnered with PosterGarden include: Audubon Society of Portland, Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Forest Park Conservancy, , Portland Japanese Garden, , Leach Botanical Garden, Pittock Mansion, and Washington Park Rose Garden. Hoyt Arboretum and Forest Park Conservancy are also in this year’s Give!Guide, the Willamette Week newspaper’s annual publication that helps Portland nonprofits raise funds.

“We are happy to be able to help out all these great organizations,” said Wendy Mitchell, program director for the PosterGarden Fund for Arts, Culture & Gardens. “And not only does this incentive generate support for the parks and gardens, but it encourages people to visit, explore, and enjoy all these wonderful places.”

PosterGarden’s high-quality, adjustable trekking pole is made of sturdy aluminum and features a comfortable, ambidextrous grip, a spring-loaded anti-shock system, a lanyard, and a carbide tungsten tip. The pole can also be customized with a range of optional features, including an LED flashlight grip, a compass, a digital camera mount, a PRO grip for mounting larger cameras or spotting scopes, and various tips and baskets.

PosterGarden, which was honored by the Portland Business Journal’s Corporate Philanthropy Awards program this fall, launched the trekking pole program in May 2011. For more information about the PosterGarden trekking pole incentive program, visit http://tinyurl.com/trekkingpole.
