Job Description The DAT (Denver Academy of ) Minyan is seeking a Rabbi who will nurture and lead our congregation as it continues to grow as one of the most attractive communities of its kind in North America. We are looking for a Rabbi who possesses an ability to articulate the profound beauty and complexity of Modern Orthodoxy, inspire an ideologically diverse community with a warm and engaging approach, and implement a vision for enhancing and directing the community’s growth. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is looking to serve as a leader in the development of a burgeoning modern orthodox community. The ideal candidate for this rabbinic position is a person with experience working in and leading a Modern Orthodox community. He will be someone skilled in developing personal relationships and inspiring commitment from diverse members, from young to old. He will possess a love for Torah and a talent for teaching it to women and men of varied backgrounds, and he will be an articulate communicator and a creative thinker. Most importantly, the Rabbi is an inspiring and approachable role model who sets a positive tone for the community and leads by personal example. The Rabbi’s job is not limited to official duties in shul. Along with his and family, he will create a bayit cham, welcoming shul members into their home for ​ ​ and holiday meals. The Rabbi and Rebbetzin will forge strong personal relationships with community members and will provide meaningful leadership and support in times of celebration and in times of sadness or need. In addition to the standard rabbinic functions, such as delivering erudite sermons and sophisticated learning opportunities that resonate with men, women, and children, presiding over lifecycle events, and deciding issues of halacha for the community, the Rabbi of the DAT Minyan will exhibit extraordinary capacity and aptitude in the area of building and cultivating personal relationships with community members with the aim of being the true leader of a vibrant and dynamic community. The rabbi will be an ambassador of Modern Orthodoxy to the community at large, including the non-Jewish community.

Our Community Founded in 2006, the DAT Minyan (Denver Academy of Torah) is the preeminent Modern Orthodox in the city. Over the past several years our community has experienced significant growth, with the shul now comprised of 150 families, most of whom have school-aged children. The DAT Minyan enjoys a diverse membership: Denver natives and families new to Colorado; day school and graduates as well as those who have never enjoyed a formal ; FFBs, BTs and geirei tzedek. The majority of the shul’s ​ ​ school-aged children are enrolled in Denver Academy of Torah (the local Modern Orthodox day school) as well as other local day schools and yeshivot. The DAT minyan has daily shacharit, , and minyanim. On Shabbat there is both a hashkama minyan and main minyan with youth programming and adult education. The shul is preparing to launch a capital campaign to develop a permanent home for our growing community. The Rabbi of the DAT Minyan will be integral to helping see this vision to fruition.

Qualifications & Compensation

Minimum Qualifications: ● from an Orthodox institution ● Undergraduate degree from a 4-year academic institution (or non-US equivalent) ● Knowledge and wisdom to serve as community (i.e. , taharat ​ ​ ​ ​ ha-mishpacha, eruv, etc.) ​ ​ ​

Skills and Experience: ● Previous employment as a Rabbi in a Modern Orthodox community / synagogue ● Demonstrated success in building community ● Strong collaboration skills ● Excellent communicator and listener ● Accomplished teacher ● Familiarity with fundraising ● Ability to connect with members coming from diverse backgrounds.
