ProQuest document link ABSTRACT Following the Prime Minister's assurance in his New Year's Day message several weeks earlier, the government reaffirmed its commitment to helping low-income Singaporeans cope with the cost of living, and making home ownership affordable to all. Only the multiple-seat constituency of Tanjong Pagar, helmed by former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, was uncontested after a rag-tag opposition team failed to submit their nomination papers in time.
