ThisPolicysetsoutthecommitmentoftheUniversityofPortsmouthtoadheringtotheEqualityAct2010inrelationtothe protectedcharacteristicofGenderReassignment,andtotheinclusionofallstudentsandstaffirrespectiveofhowtheychooseto definethemselveswithregardtotheirgenderidentity. Who is this Policy for? ThisPolicyisforallstudents,staffandotherindividualswhoworkwithintheUniversitycampus.Itwillalsobeofinteresttothe widerpublicinrelationtohowtheUniversitymeetsitsobligationsinrelationtotheEqualityAct2010withspecificreferenceto transpeople. How does the University check this Policy is followed? InformationcontainedinthisPolicyformspartoftheEqualityandDiversitytrainingthatisundertakenbyallstaff.TheUniversity encouragesstaffandstudentstoraisequestionsrelatingtogenderidentityandtoreportanyissuesorconcernstheymayhave iftheyfeelthattheirneeds,orthoseoftheirfriendsandcolleaguesarenotbeingappropriatelysupported.Fromtheknowledge shownbystaffandthequestionsasked,theUniversitybelievesthisPolicyisbeingfollowed.
