Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz dveh delov. V prvem se spoznamo z zgodovino MTV-ja in podrobneje z oddajo European Top 20. Sledijo teorije medijskega vpliva, ki pripomorejo k razumevanju vpliva vsebine na gledalce. Nato pogledamo, kako se spolnost prikazuje v medijih, kjer se osredotočimo na reprezentacijo spola in spolnosti ter mite. V drugem delu sledi analiza izbranih 20-tih videospotov glede na ustvarjene kategorije in vrednotenje pridobljenih rezultatov. We would like to research the level of sexuality in the music videos. The diploma work consists of two parts. The first part presents the history of MTV and the details of The European Top 20. It is followed by the theories of media influence which help us understand the influence of music videos' contents on the viewers. Afterwards, how sexuality is shown in media is also displayed; in that part the diploma work focuses on the representation of the sexes, erotica and myths. The last part brings the analysis of the chosen 20 music videos referring to the categories and the evaluation of the obtained results. Kot ostali mediji tudi ona s svojimi vsebinami vpliva na svoje občinstvo. Fiske in Hartley (1987: 69) pravita, če ne drugače, vpliva vsaj do te mere, da jo ljudje gledajo več ur, kot so jo generacije nazaj. Različni kanali, ki nam jih ponuja, omogočajo gledalcem najti tisto, kar se najbolj pribliţa njihovim ţeljam in potrebam. V našem delu se osredotočamo na enega izmed bolj prepoznavnih kanalov, ki je, kot bomo spoznali, s svojo ustanovitvijo, začrtal prelomnico tako v glasbeni kot televizijski umetnosti. Predmet raziskovanja je MTV kultura, kjer gre v prvi vrsti za prikazovanje videospotov, v katerih lahko najdemo odseve dogajanja v druţbi in obratno. Izvajalci preko njih narekujejo trende. Predvsem gre za kulturo mladih in vsebino, namenjeno mlajši generaciji. Osredotočili smo se na samo vsebino videospotov, kjer nas predvsem zanima stereotipno prikazovanje spola in spolnosti. V druţbi se pojavlja mnogo različnih mitov in reprezentacij spolov in spolnosti, ki jih je moral nekdo ustvariti in nekatere izmed njih najdemo tudi znotraj videospotov, ki so del naše analize. Namen diplomskega dela je analiziranje videospotov v oddaji MTV European Top 20 in s tem ugotoviti, koliko spolnosti vsebujejo videospoti in kako so ti elementi predstavljeni. Zanima nas, v kolikšni meri se prizori spolnosti in nasilja pojavljajo v videospotih, ki krojijo lestvico najpopularnejših v določenem obdobju in kaj na to pravi teorija. Poznavanje teorije nam bo pomagalo pri razumevanju in vrednotenju rezultatov analize, pri tem pa moramo spoznati tudi zgodovino kanala MTV, zakaj in kako se je vse začelo ter kako je potekal oz. poteka njegov razvoj. Z analizo bomo pokazali tudi, ali drţijo nekateri Spolnost v videospotih: Analiza MTV oddaje European Top 20 Stran 2 miti, ki so se ustvarili z razvojem videospotov: ali so ţenske bolj objektivizirane kot moški, ali ţenske bolj izraţajo implicitno spolnost in drugo. Prvi del naloge temelji na pregledu razvoja MTV-ja, pregledu literature teorije medijskega vpliva, reprezentaciji in mitu. Drugi del pa temelji na analizi videospotov oddaje European Top 20. Na začetku se spoznamo z ustanovitvijo in razvojem MTV-ja, kjer podrobneje spoznamo evropsko različico MTV-ja in nato še oddajo MTV European Top 20, ki je bistvo naše analize. Ko spoznamo ozadje tega kanala, se osredotočimo na teorije medijskega vpliva, ki nam pomagajo razumeti, kako vplivajo gledane vsebine tj. videospoti na posameznika. Tu smo se osredotočili na tri teorije: teorija dvostopenjskega toka, kultivacijska teorija ter teorija uporabe in zadovoljevanja. V prvem delu obravnavamo še teoretičen pogled na spolnost v medijih, kjer se vprašamo, za kaj se v medijih uporabljajo prizori spolnosti. S tem pa poveţemo poglavji reprezentacija in miti, kjer obravnavamo, kako mediji reprezentirajo spolnost in spola ter kakšna sporočila ob tem pošiljajo gledalcem. V drugem delu smo za analiziranje ustvarili kategorije, ki se štejejo v videospotih. S tem načinom se osredotočimo na posamezne dele videospotov in ne na celoto, saj tako laţje analiziramo različne videospote, kajti le-ti se med seboj zelo razlikujejo po vsebini oz. zgodbi. Pomembno je ţe na samem začetku poudariti, da so rezultati odvisni od same percepcije gledalca in zato bi morda ob drugačni skupini ocenjevalcev pridobili druge rezultate.
