Community 04 November 2019 Initiative by Barwa Complex

BEDAR

Bedar is a national initiative launched by the Ras Laffan Industrial City community outreach program in a strategic partnership with the Ministry of the Interior aimed at reaching out to community workers, raising awareness and culture, and developing their skills to involve them in the renaissance of the society and the preservation of its property. This initiative stems from the pillars of the 2030 strategy. Initiative is based as well on the elements of local and international human rights organizations that are concerned with providing a decent life for laborers. It is considered as a qualitative initiative that contributes to the creation of the labor community that is ready for the World Cup 2022.

The program is supported by industrial companies in the North: Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Dolphin Energy, Pearl GTL, Oryx GTL, Alkhaleej Gas.

Mr. Raju Ramanathan (HSE Corporate Manager) and Mr.Illyas M.P (Senior HR Supervisor) had attended the initial meeting and gave a list of 3 trainers and among them they have interviewed and selected 2 of our staffs namely Mr.Salman Ismail (HR Supervisor) and Mr. Shajahan Koikkal (HSE Officer) to be part of the Bedar team in supporting them to fulfil their objectives.

Our staffs were further trained for a week at Qatar Civil Defense Club by well-known trainer Eng Ibrahim Al Sada who has a Bsc in Electrical Engineering, MBA from Hull University (UK) and currently pursuing his PHD course. Course completion certificate were also issued to our competent trainers.

They have also appreciated our efforts in supporting them and as a result they have invited the corporate HSE Manager Mr.Raju Ramanathan for collecting the momentum from the officers at Qatar civil Defense Club Hall on behalf of Medgulf Construction Company W.L.L.

Afterwards, they have conducted Awareness workshop for our employees on 04/Nov/2019 at Al Khor Barwa complex in presence of the officers from Al Fazaa, Narcotics Department, CID and Al Khor community policing department and aforementioned trainers were the focal point for the arrangement of employees.

Q & A session was conducted and the employees were awarded gifts for their active participation. The MOI officials congratulated the winners and appreciated Medgulf for all its efforts they put forward for supporting the Bedar Initiative thereby supporting the betterment of the expatriate workforce in Qatar.

They have also informed Medgulf to invite them for all major gatherings at camp for them to visit and address the employees.
