Finding Our Way Back

None of us are strangers to disasters. Peoples lives are changed by them. When the community I grew up in was devastated by back to back disasters it hit me on a level that I was a stranger to.

I am inspired by the courage, skill and bravery of all involved in the midst of the fires and mudslides. I am so proud to live here, and this galvanizes me to move forward, to create, to expand the opportunities AWoL creates for local artists, and to celebrate art! ~ Jodi McLeod, AWoL Executive Director

Join us for this rescheduled workshop addressing the pertinence of understanding the uniqueness of artists' taxes!

It is imperative that artists understand how the IRS looks at an artist's business. To avoid being audited by the IRS artists need to know how tax law affects them. To comply an artist must know if their practice is a business or a hobby. We will help artists understand this distinction, and what it means to be "self-employed".

Diana Castro is the Founder and President of Legacy Tax Services, a preparation and planning firm. An IRS approved Enrolled Agent, she is the principal broker/owner of Legacy Lending Services, Inc. a mortgage firm in Ventura and has been a financial professional for over 20 years. Ms. Castro is also a best-selling author, has been featured in books and articles and led seminars and educational workshops on topics including: tax strategies, wealth management, and home buying.
