Disney.com/Terabithia BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA PRODUCTION NOTES “Just close your eyes and keep your mind wide open.” PRODUCTION NOTES —Leslie Deep in the woods, far beyond the road, across a stream, lies a secret world only two people on Earth know about—a world brimming with fantastical creatures, glittering palaces and magical forests. This is Terabithia, where two young friends will discover how to rule their own kingdom, fight the forces of darkness and change their lives forever through the power of the imagination. From Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media, the producers of “The Chronicles of Narnia,” and based on one of the most beloved novels of all time, comes an adventurous and moving tale that explores the wonders of friendship, family and fantasy: BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA. The story begins with Jess Aarons (JOSH HUTCHERSON), a young outsider on a quest to become the fastest kid in his school. But when the new girl in town, Leslie Burke (ANNASOPHIA ROBB), leaves Jess and everyone else in her dust, Jess’s frustration with her ultimately leads to them becoming fast friends. At first, it seems Jess and Leslie couldn’t be more different—she’s rich, he’s poor, she’s from the city, he’s from the country—but when Leslie begins to open up the world of imagination to Jess, they find they have something amazing to share: the kingdom of Terabithia, a realm of giants, ogres and other enchanted beings that can only be accessed by boldly swinging across a stream in the woods on a strand of rope.

  • Acting in the Academy
Acting in the Academy There are over 150 BFA and MFA acting programs in the US today, nearly all of which claim to prepare students for theatre careers. Peter Zazzali contends that these curricula represent an ethos that is outdated and limited given today’s shrinking job market for stage actors. Acting in the Academy traces the history of actor training in universities to make the case for a move beyond standard courses in voice and speech, move- ment, or performance, to develop an entrepreneurial model that motivates and encourages students to create their own employment opportunities. This book answers questions such as: • How has the League of Professional Theatre Training Programs shaped actor training in the US? • How have training programs and the acting profession developed in relation to one another? • What impact have these developments had on American acting as an art form? Acting in the Academy calls for a reconceptualization of actor training in the US, and looks to newly empower students of performance with a fresh, original perspective on their professional development. • Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Cast
Daniel tiger's neighborhood cast Continue More than 10 years ago, I spoke with Kevin Morrison, Chief Operating Officer of Fred Rogers Prod. at the time, about the continuation of Fred Rogers' legacy. As many of you know, Daniel Tiger's neighborhood stems from this conversation. Today the show is shared by millions of children around the world. I had a conversation in 2013 with Jake Beale, who played Daniel's original voice in the Daniel Tiger area (now Keegan Headley). Part of what makes the show so rich and the heart felt is the voices that bring our character to life in sharing Fred's message. Here's one of those amazing voices from the archives. I hope you enjoy it! Hey, Jake. You play a preschool tiger named Daniel, but how old are you. Really? I'm 11. And you have a teensy bit of accent, where do you come from? I'm from Toronto, Canada. How do you look like Daniel Tiger? Are your personalities similar? I like to learn about new things and teach other new things. We're both funny, and we both love to sing. I love singing in the shower and annoying my two older sisters. If you had to choose one favorite episode, what would it be? Good morning, Daniel. I love that one too. And not just because I wrote it! And you sing so beautifully in this episode! If Daniel Tiger can do something or go somewhere in the next episode, what would you like it to be? Jamaica! Because I love swimming and I love the beach.
