  • Difference Between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom
Difference Between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom www.differencebetween.com Key Difference – Magic Kingdom vs Animal Kingdom Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are two popular theme parks of Disney World. Magic Kingdom was the first theme park to be opened (in 1971) at Disney World Resort in Florida. Animal Kingdom, built in 1998, was the fourth theme park at Disney World Resort. As their names suggest, the key difference between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom is their themes; Animal Kingdom is themed around nature, animals and environmental conservation whereas Magic Kingdom is themed around concepts of magic and fairytales. What is Magic Kingdom? Magic Kingdom, opened on 1971, was the first theme park at Walt Disney World. To date, this remains the most popular destination of Walt Disney World. The whole park is divided into six areas: Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Adventureland. All these sections meet at the top of Main Street USA, in front of the Cinderella Castle. Figure 01: Cinderella Castle Attractions and Rides Magic Kingdoms have so much to see and do. It may take several days to experience all its attractions. Given below are some of the most interesting highlights. • What Is the Safety Smart Program?
WHAT IS THE SAFETY SMART PROGRAM? Disney Wild About Safety/UL Safety Smart is a lesson-based, multi-lingual global educational program developed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in collaboration with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The program aims to improve children’s awareness and understanding of safety, health, and environmental issues, and ultimately to impact their behavior. Safety Smart utilizes a tested and proven educational methodology that enhances children’s behavioral intent to make "safety smart" decisions, thereby helping them manage themselves and their surroundings as safely as possible – by conscious action, not chance. Through its efforts, the Safety Smart program cultivates safety awareness, provides opportunities for children to learn and to practice safe behaviors, and helps children make more informed safety choices today and in the future. Team 180 S.P.A.M., along with your UL Safety Advisors, invites you to request access to the Safety Smart Training Portal to become an approved Safety Smart Ambassador. This portal will give you access to (8) Safety Smart animations featuring Timon and Pumbaa from Disney’s The Lion King movie in 35 languages, as well as safety science content with Bill Nye the Science Guy®. You will also have access through desktop or mobile devices to all the training materials and Ambassador guides. We encourage you to become an approved Safety Smart Ambassador so you can mentor your Jr FLL and FLL teams and visit local schools or community groups to help spread the word in 2016. Email [email protected] to get a login and password for the Safety Smart Training Portal for your team.

From Disney to Avatar: Nature & Spirituality in Popular Culture SECTIONS REL 3938: Tuesday, 1:55-2:45; Thursday, 1:55-3:50; Florida Gym 220 INSTRUCTORS Professor Bron Taylor (Ph.D.) Email: [email protected] Office: Anderson 121 Office hours: Tuesday 3-5 p.m., and Thursday, 4-5 pm (by appointment by the end of the immediately preceding class period) Susan Shaffer (M.T.S.) Email: [email protected] Office: Anderson 121 Office hours: Wednesday 11-2 p.m., and by appointment DESCRIPTION Course Description Focusing on the period since Walt Disney began making animal-focused documentaries and animated films in the 1930s, up through the blockbuster motion picture Avatar (2009), this course examines religious, spiritual, and political dimensions of artistic productions, scientific representations in museums, and other cultural inventions (such as theme parks), in which nature takes center stage. We will explore the cultural tributaries, influences, and controversies such productions engender, for they constitute important ways that environmental ethics, and quests for environmentally sustainable livelihoods and lifeways, are expressed and promoted. The course will enhance students’ abilities to interpret these cultural productions and their evocative power and explore their own reactions to these social phenomena. Purpose and Objectives 1) complicate and thus make more critical and sophisticated what students understand by terms like religion, spirituality, nature, and popular culture. 2) provide students with an understanding of different ways to study beliefs, perceptions, and practices related to what people variously construe as religion or spirituality. 3) illuminate the ways in which religion, spirituality and nature-related values are constructed, expressed, and contested in popular culture.
