Doi xxx/mycosphere/x/x/x Examinations of specimens of cercosporoid leaf-spotting hyphomycetes made between 1966 and 1997 in Cuba and Venezuela, now housed at K (previously deposited at IMI as “Cercospora sp.”), have been continued, supplemented by several samples collected in Venezuela between 2006 and 2012, which are now deposited at HAL. Some species are new to Cuba and Venezuela, some new host plants are included, and the following new species are introduced: Cercospora syngoniicola, Pseudocercospora apeibae, P. clematidis-haenkeanae, P. erythrinicola, P. erythroxylicola, P. guanarensis, P. helicteris, P. perseae-americanae, P. simirae, and Zasmidium cassiae-grandis. The new combination Pseudocercospora angraeci and the new name P. ranjita var. amphigena are proposed. Projeto de doutorado Ana Claudia Fernandes (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) Orientador: Prof. Dr. João Aguiar Nogueira Batista (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais) Belo Horizonte, Março de 2010 Revisão bibliográfica A tribo Eupatorieae, pertencente à família Asteraceae, inclui cerca de 2.400 espécies e 180 gêneros, a maioria dos quais segregada do grande gênero Eupatorium (Bremer, 1994). A subtribo Ayapaninae, de Eupatorieae, possui 13 gêneros e 90 espécies, com distribuição na América tropical (tab. 1) (King & Robinson, 1980). Um destes gêneros é Heterocondylus, com 16 espécies, de ocorrência principal no Brasil (tab. 2), sendo um daqueles segregados de Eupatorium s.l. (King & Robinson, 1972). O sistema de classificação, em que Eupatorium s.l. foi desmembrado em vários gêneros, baseia-se principalmente em caracteres micromorfológicos. Não se sabe, porém, se estes caracteres são úteis na separação das subtribos e gêneros e, para a maioria das subtribos, se estes sustentam grupos monofiléticos (King & Robinson, 1987). Os trabalhos com abordagem molecular para a tribo são poucos e incluem poucas ou nenhuma espécie brasileira ou sul-americana. Indicam, porém, que uma delimitação mais restrita de Eupatorium é válida (Schilling et al., 1999; Ito et al., 2000a e b; Schmidt & Schilling, 2000). Ayapaninae é considerada próxima de Alomiinae, por King e Robinson (1987), e próxima de Disynaphiinae, Eupatoriinae, Alomiinae, Critoniinae e Hebecliniinae, por Bremer (1994). Esta questão permanece sem uma resposta definitiva, pois nenhum trabalho foi realizado após estes, para definição dos grupos mais relacionados a Ayapaninae.
