Modesto 58 49 .542 12 The Quakes took game one by a 7-6 final score. Rancho got a two-run homer from Ismael Alcantara to start the scoring. Rancho got Stockton 40 64 .385 28.5 a solid start from Tony Gonsolin on the hill, as the Dodger’s rehabber allowed just one run on three hits over 2.1 innings. The Storm erupted for three runs in the top of the fourth inning off of Braydon Fisher. A pair of two-out home runs by Bryan Torres and Jarryd SOUTH W L PCT GB Dale gave the Storm a two run advantage. The Quakes would strike for three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. A Rancho Cucamonga 58 49 .542 - solo home run by Imanol Vargas was his 15th of the season, and that tied him for the team lead. Quakes starter Kendall Williams and Storm starter Dwayne Matos both pitched five scoreless frames to start the 2021 PLAYOFF STANDINGS ballgame. Marco Hernandez had the go-ahead home run, just his third of the season, but it was his Rancho Cucamonga 58 49 .542 8 biggest yet. The three homers in the game give Rancho 152 now on the season, which leads the league. Inland Empire 53 51 .510 11.5 WILLIAMS DEALS: Last night, Kendall Williams turned in what was arguably his best start of the season. Williams pitched five shutout innings against the Storm in game two yesterday. He allowed just three hits without walking a single batter and struck out YESTERDAY’S SCORES six. Williams also pitched around three errors behind him to keep the Storm off the scoreboard. This was Williams’ third start of the Fresno 3 Stockton 2 season where he went at least four innings without allowing a run. Rancho 7 L.E. 6 (DH1) / L.E. 1 Rancho 0 (DH2) DODGER NEWS: The Dodgers picked up a major win last night in San Francisco. The Dodgers got a leadoff home run from Trea Visalia 7 San Jose 1 Turner to start the game off on the right foot. The Dodgers held the Giants to just one run, as they took game two by a 6-1 final. They Inland Empire 7 Modesto 5 have now pulled back into a tie for first place with the Giants. Today is the last game of the series, and the winner will have a one- game lead in the division with just 26 games left on their schedule. TODAY’S GAMES PLAYOFF UPDATE!: The 2021 Playoffs will look and feel differently than any other year, as this year’s edition will see the top two Lake Elsinore at Rancho Cucamonga, 2:00 PM teams compete in a championship series, regardless of division. The Fresno Grizzlies currently have the best record in the league and Visalia at San Jose, 5:00 PM have a three-game lead over San Jose, who would be the #2 seed. Rancho, winners of four of their last five, are sitting in fourth place Inland Empire at Modesto, 6:05 PM overall, currently 8 games behind San Jose. With San Jose winning the season-long series (10-2) over Rancho, the Quakes must have Fresno at Stockton, 6:05 PM a better record overall, so the San Jose lead is more like a 9-game advantage with just 13 to play. The 2022 season will see the league move to a 132-game schedule and the first-half and second-half winners of each respective division meet in the playoffs. TUESDAY’S GAMES 2021 DRAFT: Thanks to a deep Dodgers’ farm system that remains strong despite the loss of their top two prospects at the trade Lake Elsinore at Visalia, 6:00 PM deadline, the Quakes have just two players on their 30-man roster that were drafted in the recent 2021 draft.
