Following an 11-4 defeated to Modesto on Wednesday afternoon, Rancho has fallen behind the season series at 1-2. Following a SOUTH W L PCT GB 43-minute delay of game action due to rain, the Quakes and starting pitcher Andrew Sopko kept the game close, tied at 1-1 after three Lancaster 14 13 .519 - innings. Hamlet Marte tied the game at 1-1 in the third inning with a solo-home run, his second on the season. Modesto jumped to Rancho Cucamonga 12 15 .444 2.0 Inland Empire 12 15 .444 2.0 a big lead in the sixth with a five-run inning and led 8-1. Connor Wong helped cut the deficit with a two-run triple in the sixth but Lake Elsinore 10 17 .370 4.0 Modesto would add three more in the seventh. Sopko (1-2), who left the game after the fifth trailing 3-1, was hit with the loss allow- ing three runs (two earned) on eight hits and striking out six. Rancho Cucamonga's starter did not issue a walk in the contest. D-LUX: Gavin Lux was named the California League Player of the Week on Monday, becoming the first Quakes player to receive the CAL LEAGUE SCOREBOARD honor this season. During the week, Lux batted .417 (10-for-24) with a home run, four doubles, five runs scored and six RBI's. As a result from his standout stretch, Lux leads the California League in runs scored (21) and is in a three-way tie for second on the season in doubles (9). Lux has continued to hit well at the plate opening the Modesto series on Monday with his third three-hit game over Yesterday the last five. Gavin Lux has pieced together a modest six-game hitting streak (13-for-27), and has reached on a hit in Visalia at San Jose, 12:30 PM nine of his last ten games. Cristian Santana went 0-for-3 Monday night and saw his ten-game hitting streak come to a close, a team- Modesto at Rancho Cucamonga, 7:05 PM high streak for Rancho this year. Lake Elsinore at Inland Empire, 7:05 PM RECENT ROSTER MOVES: Today, RHP Dustin May has been transferred to Rancho Cucamonga from Extended Spring Train- ing. Imani Abdullah has been placed on the Disabled List. Tuesday, Parker Curry was transferred to Rancho Cucamonga from Extended Tomorrow Spring Training. Justin Hoyt was transferred from Rancho Cucamonga to Extended Spring Training. On Monday, outfielder Logan Landon San Jose at Lancaster, 6:35 PM was transfered to Double-A Tulsa of the Texas League. Landon hit an even .300 with the Quakes over 19 games, homering twice and Modesto at Lake Elsinore, 7:00 PM driving in ten runs. In Landon's spot, OF Saige Jenco has been activated from the temporary inactive list. Rancho Cucamonga A MAY DEBUT: Dustin May (0-0) will make his 2018 debut with the Quakes today after being transferred to the Quakes roster at Visalia, 7:00 PM from Extended Spring Training in Arizona. May made two appearances with the Quakes last season, one of which was during the Inland Empire at Stockton, 7:10 PM California League Playoffs, but spent the majority of the year with Low-A Great Lakes (9-7, 3.67 ERA, 35G, 30GS) of the Midwest League. May was drafted in the third round in 2016 by the Dodgers out of Justin, TX and Northwest High School and is currently 2018 QUAKES AT A GLANCE ranked as the number eleven prospect in the Dodgers system by Baseball America and MLBPipeline.com. 1st Half Record: 12-15 OPPOSING PITCHER: Reggie McClain (0-0) will make his second start of the year for the Nuts and his first against Rancho.
