Previous meetings • The sides are meeting for the first time in UEFA competition and this is PAOK's first encounter with Azerbaijani opponents. • Qäbälä have cause for optimism, having eliminated PAOK's league rivals Panathinaikos FC on away goals in this season's UEFA Europa League play-offs, drawing 0-0 at home and 2-2 in Athens. • Oddly, all four games between Azeri and Greek clubs in UEFA competition have ended in draws – in addition to the two Qäbälä v Panathinaikos games, İnter Bakı PİK and Asteras Tripolis FC drew 1-1 home and away in the 2012/13 UEFA Europa League second qualifying round. Asteras went through on penalties. Form guide • Qäbälä are unbeaten in four European home games this season (W3 D1) and have not conceded in that run. • PAOK are without a European away win this season (D2 L1). • Qäbälä are making their UEFA group stage debut this season; this is only their second European campaign. • PAOK have featured in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League group stages in five previous campaigns; they have made it to the knockout phase three times. Trivia and links • The journey from Salonika to Baku – where this game will be played – is just over 2,250km. • Qäbälä and Rosenborg BK are the only sides who have made it all the way from the first qualifying round to the group stage in this season's competition. • Dimitar Berbatov can make his European debut for PAOK; his only previous game in Baku was Bulgaria's 0-0 friendly draw against Azerbaijan in November 2004. He last played in this competition for Tottenham Hotspur FC, in March 2008. The coaches • Qäbälä's Ukrainian coach Roman Grygorchuk made his name in Latvia, where he won three domestic titles with FK Ventspils from 2006-08. He took charge at Qäbälä in December 2014 after a four-year spell at FC Chornomorets Odesa. • PAOK have been led by former Croatia defender Igor Tudor since June. Now 37, he won two league titles with Juventus, and started his coaching career with HNK Hajduk Split – the club where he started and ended his playing career – winning the Croatian Cup in 2013. 3 Qäbälä FK - PAOK FC Thursday 17 September 2015 - 19.00CET (22.00 local time) Match press kit Bakcell Arena, Baku Team facts Qäbälä FK Formed: 2005 Nickname: Radarlar (The Radars) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • None Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) None Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2014/15: first qualifying round 2013/14: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2012/13: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2011/12: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2010/11: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2009/10: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2008/09: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2005/06: did not take part in UEFA club competition Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 2-0: Qäbälä v FK Čukarički 23/07/15, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round second leg 2-0: Qäbälä v FC Dinamo Tbilisi 02/07/15, UEFA Europa League first qualifying round first leg • Biggest away win N/A • Heaviest home defeat 0-2: Qäbälä v NK Široki Brijeg 03/07/14, UEFA Europa League first qualifying round first leg • Heaviest away defeat 3-0: NK Široki Brijeg v Qäbälä 10/07/14, UEFA Europa League first qualifying round second leg UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 2-0: Qäbälä v FK Čukarički (see above) 2-0: Qäbälä v FC Dinamo Tbilisi (see above) • Biggest away win N/A • Heaviest home defeat 0-2: Qäbälä v NK Široki Brijeg (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 3-0: NK Široki Brijeg v Qäbälä (see above) PAOK FC Formed: 1926 Nickname: Dikefalos tou Vora (Two-Headed Eagle of the North) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • none Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) League title: 2 (1985) 4 Qäbälä FK - PAOK FC Thursday 17 September 2015 - 19.00CET (22.00 local time) Match press kit Bakcell Arena, Baku Greek Cup: 4 (2003) Ten-year European record (UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup unless indicated otherwise) 2014/15: group stage 2013/14: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2012/13: play-offs 2011/12: round of 32 2010/11: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League third qualifying round) 2009/10: play-offs 2008/09: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2007/08: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2006/07: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2005/06: group stage Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 6-0: PAOK v NK Lokomotiva Zagreb 23/07/15, UEFA Europa League second qualifying round second leg • Biggest away win 0-7: FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi v PAOK 16/09/99, UEFA Cup first round first leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-3 on three occasions, most recently v Udinese Calcio 23/02/12, UEFA Europa League round of 32 second leg • Heaviest away defeat 6-1: FC Barcelona v PAOK 1/10/75, UEFA Cup first round second leg UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 6-0: PAOK v NK Lokomotiva Zagreb (see above) • Biggest away win 0-7: FC Lokomotivi Tbilisi v PAOK (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 0-3 twice, most recently v Udinese Calcio (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 6-1: FC Barcelona v PAOK (see above) 5 Qäbälä FK - PAOK FC Thursday 17 September 2015 - 19.00CET (22.00 local time) Match press kit Bakcell Arena, Baku Squad list Qäbälä FK Current season All-time QUAL UEL League UEL UEFA No. Player Nat. • Bringing Live Football to the Fans PAOK TV in the Cloud
Bringing Live Football to the Fans PAOKV TV in the Cloud Executive Summary About PAOK FC For the 2019-2020 season, PAOK FC launched PAOK TV, an over-the-top (OTT) platform that provides live matches, postgame shows, and on-demand content to fans across Greece and the world. The initial launch disrupted football TV rights in Greece, demonstrating a new way to broadcast matches and exploit new technologies, and ultimately allowing the club to manage its own TV rights exclusively across the world. Following this initial success, PAOK FC looked to launch a new version of its OTT service as part of a wider overhaul of the club’s digital strategy. PAOK FC wanted the new platform to be visually better, automated, have a modern interface, and be user friendly. Panagiotis Aroniadis, PAOK TV Project Manager and PAOK FC Panthessaloníkios New Media Director, said, “We decided to create a new OTT platform from the Athlitikós Ómilos beginning so that we could become better, faster, safer, and offer a better user Konstantinopolitón (Pan- experience for our subscribers. #DareToDream is more than a motto for us”. thessalonian Athletic PAOK TV Club of Constantinopolita ns) is commonly known Developed by Insys Video Technologies, PAOK TV is a subscription and pay-per- as PAOK FC.
